- 5.0 Northwoods Zip Line, Aerial Trekking, Argo ATV, and Kayak River Tours (1.053 reviews)
-Fun and Safe
Friday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks • Eco Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
This 67-year old grandma took her 9 & 11-year old granddaughters and had a blast. It was a first-time zip line experience for them and they were not disappointed. Of great importance was the safety practices the Northwoods team has implemented....we never felt any danger anxiety. The views are great, plus you get a little "hiking" and rope bridge experience too. I'm sure we will be back in the future!! See more..
- 5.0 Minocqua Winter Park & Nordic Center (67 reviews)
-Beautiful place to enjoy nature!
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Ski & Snowboard Areas • Cross-country Ski Areas
We enjoyed our visit to MWP so much that we came back a second day. The staff are extremely helpful and patient with newbies and really want you to enjoy your time at the park. We scheduled a group lesson which was very informative and the instructors took time with everyone. The tea house is a great stop for some hot chocolate or tea. The camp fires and benches are appreciated to pause and enjoy nature and some gorgeous views. It is truly a hidden gem! See more..
- 5.0 Northern Waters Distillery (45 reviews)
-Great for a rainy day or any day!
Spent < 1 hour Distilleries
This was a really neat place to stop, due to the fact that you can see the distillery, while drinking and taking in cozy the decor; which was on point for the Northwoods. I recommend doing a tasting of 5 of the liquors and then picking a drink with that liquor. The bourbon was phenomenal, but it wasn’t available to purchase because it’s so popular. Would definitely visit again, for great spirits & conversation. See more..
- 5.0 Minocqua Pontoon Cruises (29 reviews)
-Must pontoon ride in the North Woods
Friday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Boat Tours • Boat Rentals • Nature & Wildlife Tours
It was a great day to be on Lake Minocqua, and our guide, Chad, was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and very funny He was passionate about the city and the lake. We got to see an eagles' nest with babies in it and an osprey rocketing down into the water and catching a fish. The wildlife on the lake was amazing, and the houses were pretty impressive. On a side note, I accidentally booked the wrong day, and Chad was very accommodating to get the right day and time. I would highly recommend this ride. See more..

Paint & Pottery Studios
Great way to spend some time while in Minocqua. We did the pottery and both chose the Tuscan oil pots to decorate. It was so much fun and you can even get a drink while you work. My grapefruit drink was yummy. The girls are so friendly & helpful. Keep in mind your pottery needs to be fired so you pick it up a couple days later. See more..

- 5.0 A La Carte Shop (1 review)
-Make Sure to Visit
Speciality & Gift Shops
This shop is located in the "Gaslight" Mall and is worth spending some time at. From high end gits and home decorations to wine to Wisconsin related items and Christmas items, you can probably find something for everyone here. The staff are great to work with. They went out of their way to help my wife find some dinner plates she had bought in Wisconsin years ago and they found some in their stock. I would hesitate to take toddlers in the store but right outside the door is an area with tables and chairs and other stores are located in the "mall area". See more..
- 5.0 Minocqua Museum (1 review)
-It's mildly interesting, and it's free
History Museums
We found this by accident. It's your basic small town history museum, except it's well organized and it does document a number of events in Minocqua's past. It's a block or so off the main drag so you can go there without moving your car, but there is street parking and we were able to find a spot right by the building, Not sure if this works during the heavy tourist season. The open hours listed are just June through Labor Day, any other time I'd call first. Good way to kill time without spending money See more..

- 4.5 Bearskin State Trail (70 reviews)
-Thursday, August 26th Bearskin, and Hiawatha trails bike ride.
Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
My wife and I rode the Bearskin, and Hiawatha bike trail on Thursday, August 26th. We started from the Minocqua trailhead, and did the trail all the way to Tomahawk, then rode back to the Minocqua trailhead. We ended up with a 64 mile ride. We had planned on riding it over 2 days, but the weather changed our plans. Shortly after you start the ride in Minocqua, you cross the bridge and find the kiosk to pay the $5 fee per person for a day visit. Envelopes, and pens were at the kiosk. The ride was a lot of fun, and some beautiful scenery. A couple of hills to contend with. The crushed rock trail surface was for the most part very manageable. We enjoyed our day, and would certainly do it again. See more..
- 4.5 Holiday Acres (52 reviews)
-Outstanding Experience...HIGHLY recommend!
Game & Entertainment Centers • Miniature Golf
The trail ride (horse) was outstanding. The staff was extremely accommodating, it was simple to get on and off of the horses because of the saddle-level decks and the guide was extremely attentive and very friendly. The trail itself snaked through the woods, it was well-kept and the local scenery was beautiful. The ride lasted about an hour. You can even "meet" the horses before you ride by visiting the open and inviting stables. I would HIGHLY recommend!!! See more..

- 4.5 Settlers Mill Adventure Golf (14 reviews)
-Nice Course in Great Shape
Spent 1-2 hours Miniature Golf
As a family we play mini golf once every couple of years. This usually happens on vacation. This course was very clean, great shape, & well marked. The price was par for the course and included a coupon for a treat. Of course, we had ice cream before supper because we were on vacation! Upon completion of your first game you can do it again for 1/2 price. There was plenty of shade on a hot day. The staff was friendly. The course seemed easy enough although our scores didn’t reflect it. See more..
- 4.5 The Christmas Chalet (6 reviews)
-Giant and sensible selection
Speciality & Gift Shops
One of our family traditions is to get an ornament any time we travel somewhere new, to remember our trip. Usually, we can't find exactly what we hope for, but we settle on something close. Since this was our first trip to Minocqua, and we rented a boat for a day, we hoped to find a boat ornament, but knew we might settle for something woodsy that said Minocqua on it. There was absolutely, positively no need to settle. There were boats galore. There were woods galore. There were tons of other sensible Minocqua-themed choices. It's awesome to find shopkeepers that really understand why their customer might wander through the front door, and these folks clearly get it. Well done. See more..

- 4.0 Timber Ridge Golf Club (23 reviews)
-Our Memorial Round to a Friend
Friday: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM Golf Courses
We had a wonderful experience playing twice within the week at Timber Ridge. Yes, the greens are fast and pretty unpredictable... I wouldn't have it any other way! The staff were super kind as we were celebrating the life of our closest friend who lost her battle with Leukemia. They gave us our tee times 5 months ahead and let us go earlier then the scheduled time on the voucher . We felt the course was rich and green and challenging but not impossible. The rough was a definite 1-stroke penalty if you got in it! But so is the rough on any good course! We are definitely coming back next year again. Thank you Timber Ridge Staff and Family! See more..
