A visit to the Stone Bridge Valley Art Center is like finding an unexpected gem. Located in Calhoun County Illinois (population 5,000+ and 284 square miles of land) where farms dominate the landscape, Stone Bridge Valley Art Center is a wonderful oasis which strives to recognize the amazing artistic abilities of the county residents. The center is the work of the Linda Bascen. From April until October, each month finds a particular field highlighted. It might be watercolors, glass art, fabric arts, photography or even carved gourds. The displays are arranged to catch the eye and draw you to the next piece. Additionally, there are several weekend events like the third weekend in November Arts and Craft Sale. Calhoun County should be proud to have such an amazing Art Center.
