I have asked many people in Madison if they know of this place. Most do not. Devil's Lake? - some will ask. This is an "amphitheater" in the sandstone, typical of the Driftless Area - where the stream carves out a roundish depression in the soft rock. This one by far is the biggest that I am aware of. We stayed over night at Jeremiah's. We'd never been there before and we will be there again! It was so peaceful, the trout was excellent and Jeremiah was the most hospitable host you could ask for! We waked the numerous trails, watched the ducks and relaxed at the fire pit. What a wonderful experience. If you are within driving distance I seriously suggest you visit Jeremiah's Bullfrog Fish Farm and Eat their Fish!!!! See more..

A friend and I picked lunch up from a place in town and took it to this park to eat. Just as we pulled in, it started to rain. We found a bunch of pavilions with picnic tables and ran under one to eat. It was perfect. This is a great park and has multiple fields- including a baseball field. There is a water park but because of the pandemic it was closed. The lawns were lush and green and I would recommend for anyone to stop and enjoy this place. See more..

My wife and I are moving to the Menomonie area and have been trying out the local restaurants. The Waterfront is likely to become one of our regulars. It's small but comfortable. Having gone in the wintertime the deck overlooking the lake wasn't open and we are looking forward to going back when we can sit out there. We were there for lunch and with the snow, there weren't many other people there. I suspect it can really get hopping in the evening and likely a lot of fun. The menu was "typical bar fair" with some very interesting twists. We will require numerous return visits to try and enjoy. Needless to say the food we had was very good. Came here for drinks and were waited on by Tori. She was fast, efficient, and friendly! This bar does not serve food; however, has a very nice selection of tap and bottled beers, along with specials for each day. There is pool & darts and ample seating at both the bar and tables. We visited with our grand kids in the spring, they have limited weekends open where you can go into the lambing barns and hold the animals. Lambs, goats, chicks, pigs all with babies the kids can interact with and hold. You go into a large barn, so dress appropriately, and be careful where you step. They have lots of parking in a field and it is all paved roads to get to the farm. There were pony rides and a barn where you can sit down and have something to eat after the kids see the animals. A few holes are links style, some are cut through a hardwood forest, water comes into play on 3 holes, elevated greens with some difficult hole locations, decent elevation changes.
