   This is a very nice park in Marceline, though with the Disney history they could step it up and mow and fix the broken fountains. It is a beautiful centerpiece of the real Main Street USA. See more..

   Downtown Marceline is a step back in time. They call it the Original Main Street USA. You can really see the influence that Walt Disney took from this town. From the downtown cinema to the corner Cafe which was a great place to eat. The post office where you can send a post card with the Mickey Mouse post mark. The Disney museum with a number of train locomotives in the park. There is also a very nice Disney Museum. (They are not open on Mondays) We felt very welcomed and really enjoyed of time in town.    Because there are no restaurants large enough to handle a group of 50 Tourists for lunch, a group of church ladies decided to provide lunch for visitors. They were wonderful and the food was home prepared and cooked by them. It was delicious. They have been doing this for large groups visiting their city for years, After the meal we got a tour of the church and the beautiful stained glass windows. They have an elevator to get up to the sanctuary so you don't have to walk up and down the steps. Great experience. See more..

   Walt first came to Marceline by train when he was five years old. The Santa Fe train arrived at the depot that preceded the present-day one, which was rebuilt in 1913. When Walt returned to Marceline for the first time in 1946, the depot evoked his first memories of pulling into Marceline. So it is fitting that the museum dedicated to one of the most influential persons of the last century is housed in this restored Santa Fe Depot. See more..
