Historic Sites

This Heritage Park was so very interesting and informative. It's hard to imagine how much it took to build this farmstead. Very beautiful home. Along with the Hausbarn and the small hotel and conference center and gift shop on grounds as well as a very neat and comfortable camp ground with full hook ups make this a "Do not miss" attraction. Theres is also a beautiful 125 year old church on the grounds and many weddings are held there. See more..

My husband and I spent a couple of hours here on Tuesday , it was a great way to spend 2 hours we had fun it what was probably an attraction for children but for the young at heart it was perfect, we had lots of laughs, got wet and got lost as it's a bit of s maze with a difference. The cafe was good too plenty of choice and a reasonable price. The only negative was getting there the sat nav instructions were terrible we ended up on a road that wasn't in use and a kind man showed us the way. See more..

The hausbarn was simply amazing. It is incredible that something built in the 1600's and moved several times was so intact and in such good condition. Very interesting and informative to see such an authentic piece of history and how farmers lived in that era. Also on site is a beautiful century old farmstead complete with carriage house, barn, and something I've never seen before, a brick chicken coop. There is also a large display of antique farm equipment. The house is filled with beautiful woodwork, cut glass, and furnishings. Hard to imagine such a fine home for the time period in such a rural area. Really enjoyed our visit. See more..

The centerpiece of the Manning Community Foundation is its beautiful Heritage Park- a location packed with attractions that will take visitors back in time and give them a glimpse of what ‘would have been’ had their ancestors not made the courageous voyage from Germany across the Atlantic and then some. We invite you to visit our 350-year old authentic German Hausbarn, brought over from Germany in 1996. We’ll tell you how it got here, what it was used for and what life was like in Germany in the 1600’s. Step back into the late 1800’s and take a look at the historical Trinity Church or the early 1900’s and see what living on a rural farmstead might have been like at the Leet/Hassler Farmstead. Take a tour of the Konferenz Centre, which boasts a large hall, tavern and restaurant dining room available for weddings, business meetings and other special events.
