  3. 5.0 Luther Britt Park (1 review)
    - Tranquility!
    Spent 2-3 hours Parks
    Luther Britt Park image
This 142-acre city park is truly a hidden gem as it is not visible from any main road. Entering the gate and parking area is like moving into a another world! The beautiful lake stretches like a post card infront of you. The treeline reflects majestically on the water and the occasional fish surfaces for a snack. It is easy to walk around the lake but could be more problematic in the rainy season. The park offers swimming, fishing and limited boating. Three picknic shelters can be reserved and a Beach House are available for private rental. Insider tip: This is the best maintained (and challenging) 18 hole disc golf course you will find for many miles. See more..

  8. 4.0 Meadow Road Dog Park (2 reviews)
    - Best dog park I've been to!
    Spent < 1 hour Parks
As a dog mom of 2, I know my dog parks. This one is great! It looks brand new and has GRASS. Not dirt, GRASS. The only issue about this park is that it does not supply water. So, bring your pups water! That is not a big deal for us since I always bring our own water anyway. The park has a large dog and small dog side. Both are the same size and have plenty of room to run. The park supplies poo bags and trash cans. Parking is on a gravel lot right next to the fence and there are benches outside of the fence areas. The location of this park is at the corner of Meadow Rd and Powersville Rd. See more..
  9. 4.0 Ella & Co (1 review)
    - Southwestern charm
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
This store is located across from Pizza Hut. Stylish-looking boutique brings new life in town. It's filled with southwestern clothing, accessories, and jewelry. Everything well placed and good use of space. The staff was quiet yet friendly, helpful, and left you alone to browse. The prices were decent ($14-$60). There was crystal/diamond jewelry and locally made jewelry. I'm not to sure about undressing in the fitting as the curtains look sheer with lighting. See more..

    Stephens Vineyard and Winery image
What a fun experience! We had 4 in our party and Tom the owner made sure we enjoyed ourselves. He was personable, knowledgeable and patient with our questions. These fuit wines are NOT the watery, bland kind. These are full of fruit and rich in flavor. I believe we tasted 15 different wines. The Pomegranate Wine won best in North Carolina multiple years. And the Ice Dessert Wines are balanced, not syrupy. The setting is casual, barn type. Lots of fresh honey and candles etc to buy too. Clean and cute. Ask Tom about his beloved cat. Cash and credit cards accepted. See more..
  12. 3.0 James L. Stephens Memorial Park (1 review)
    - River Runs Through It
    Spent 1-2 hours Parks
The road to the James L. Stephens Memorial Park takes you through old town Lumberton to an obscure gate. Setting off on a poorly maintained road, you are met by the Lumber River's edge. Shutting the car off, the bird calling hits you and a wide open space allows the mind to slow down while watching the river flows at a steady clip. It is not one of those 'must see' places, but does the trick if you just want to get away from the rush for an hour or two. See more..
