Stopped by today after seeing an article on the Carolina Weekend. The tremendous selections of candy, fudge, toys etc. blew me away. 2. 5.0 North Carolina Vietnam Veterans Memorial (24 reviews)
    - A hidden treasure on Hwy 85
    Monuments & Statues
North Carolina Vietnam Veterans Memorial image
On Hwy 85, heading north at about mile marker 100 is a really nice rest stop. Besides having everything a rest stop normally has there is a trail to a Memorial that most people drive right past. After you've had a break, take a short walk down the trail, cross the foot bridge and take a moment to reconnect with the past and the beauty of a tiny park with a wonderful Vietnam Memorial. It's not huge, but it will make you take a moment and reflect. From the flags to the dedicated wall and plaques; the peaceful beauty deserves a few minutes. Walk the circle path inside the memorial, read the plaques, admire the landscaping, sit down on a bench and listen to the silence of nature. And remember who and what was lost in the jungles of Vietnam. See more..

My therapist was a year out of school and did a fantastic job concentrating on my problem areas. They have it all hair, sauna, nails, and massage. I will be coming back the next time I am in town. - A Gem In Lexington, North Carolina!
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Childress Vineyards image
By opening the doors to Childress Vineyards in 2004, NASCAR team owner Richard Childress fulfilled a longtime dream that grew from the days when he first began racing in California and visited wineries with friends. What began as camaraderie and good times soon became an engaging passion for world-class wines and then the vision to build a world-class winery. After looking at options in California and New York, Richard chose farmland in Lexington, NC located less than five miles from his RCR Racing operations. The location situated Childress Vineyards as the gateway to the Yadkin Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA), North Carolina’s first federally designated region for grape growing. Childress Vineyards is one of the most prominent wineries in the state’s re-emerging wine industry that has grown from 21 to more than 180 wineries since the year 2000. See more..

My husband and I were visiting the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Weathervane Winery Cork's Up cabin. The immaculate condition, so comfortable bed, the huge shower with a seat, and the hot tub were so worth the price. Did I mention the location right nextdoor to to the Weathervane Winery? The wine is fantastic! So if your planning to travel and sample the Southern Wine Trail make a reservation. You won't be sorry. I am already planning my next stay at Cork's Up. Cheers. See more..

This isn't a big antique store but it does have a lot of nice things at good prices. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. The main aisles were wide and uncluttered and the individual booths were well organized making it a pleasant visit even though I didn't find anything to bring home. You can find vintage clothes, vintage hats/bags, lighting, glassware, art, furniture, rustic items, kitchenware, books, magazines, mid-century items and much much more. 14. 4.0 Boone's Cave Park (64 reviews)
    - Wonderful Surprise
    Parks
    Boone's Cave Park image
Sadly, I had never heard of this place despite its history. Maybe that is a good thing as it is not overcrowded. We went on a cold, wet day, but still had an amazing time. Under the trees, it was much less wet and cold. The restrooms were even heated. I hope they are able to restore the actual homestead at some point, but the trails are great and well-maintained. We would visit again to do the longer trails. The caves are bigger than they first appear. I'm glad we went when it was cold. Otherwise, be careful for snakes! There are beautiful views of the Yadkin River. For those in wheelchairs, there is a covered picnic area where you can get a great view of the river. See more..
