Knoke's is chock full of delicious chocolates, confections, and old time candy as well as ice cream. The chocolates are made at the store so everything is fresh. From chocolate covered nuts to chocolate covered peppers, they have it all. The young man helping us was friendly, outgoing, and a pleasure to speak with. We were able to visit the Phipps center even though it was being renovated. We went to see one of the center's finest hidden gems, their theater pipe organ. Although the auditorium is not huge, the Wurlitzer originally from the KSTP studios in St. Paul, sounds beautiful. They apparently will be using it for their Christmas show this year and hope many of the locals will get to hear it. See more..

I have no idea why I have never been in this shop! I have lived here 16 years and went in for the first time on Friday. The minute I walked in I realized what I have been missing! My husband and I headed up here to eat our breakfast on the go. We secured a nice place to park and got out and walked around. Truly a beautiful view down the St. Croix River Valley! There were other cars with people eating and a runner going through the park. It looks like the City is trimming the trees along the road as there were piles of branches waiting for pick up. This store is huge, with lots of things around every corner, and there are a lot of them! It’s very clean, bright, and well organized. I was greeted upon arrival, and then left to explore on my own. Just how I like it! There is so much here! Albums, dolls, clothing, dishes, jewelry, cards, decorations, signs, books, games, etc... all of many different decades. My husband and I like to go up here to walk and to look at the view. At the overlook, you can see the river valley all the way up to the smoke stack in the Stillwater/Oak Park Heights area; across the river; and all of downtown Hudson. There are benches to sit on so you can just admire the view. When we have been there, it was always busy with runners and walkers. Below, there is a garden and walking and picnic areas, and down a substantial stairway there are pavilions (for rent), a volleyball area, and a playground. We have seen a lot of people using this area too so those amenities are popular. We were there in the summer and the fall, and I have to say that seeing the fall colors was worth it. There is also the grave of Silas Snell, buried in 1847, near the lookout over the valley. He was one of the valley's earliest residents. This is a favorite place of ours to go. See more..

We walk around here all the time as there is a walking path that leads right to it from our neighborhood. So ta much to do at this park! There have been softball fields here for many, many years. Adult teams play in the evenings and they offer concessions during those games. The girls high school softball team plays here as does the high school boys baseball team. There was an addition of a huge playground and pavilion added around 12 years ago, with funding from local citizens. If you donated money you could have your name on a piece of fencing. I am proud to say we have multiple family member’s names on that fence surrounding the main play area! There are tunnels, swings, tires, and so many climbing areas. Such a fun place! In the past couple of years they added a dog park. Two fenced in areas- one for little dogs, and one for big. This park is loved by so many! See more..

I went for a stroll to reminisce about all the times I brought my children here as they were growing up. Such wonderful memories. There are swings, and other climbing structures, large grassy areas for open play, a small shelter, picnic tables and grills. This is very nice park close to Twin city and neighboring area. Best part is water fall. Water fall is quite wide can feel cold and warm water same time. We stopped here on a couples trip. This park is a quick stop off of I 94 and is a great place to go for a quick walk if you are driving. Unfortunately most of the parking near the park is meter parking and there are not many options for free parking. The pier walkway out to the beach is amazing and there are porta potties at the end of the walk which was nice. The views on the pier are amazing. I've competed here at a sheepdog trial every Labor Day weekend for the last 5 years. The field is world class and very competitive. Handler dog teams came from 13 states and Canada this year. For spectators, there is not a better thing to do than to spend a day watching these dogs take a group of sheep around the course. The atmosphere is mostly college students and young adults, with the walls covered in beer and Packers decoration. There is often live music at night, but I have never been asked to pay a cover. The beer selection is fair, and includes Spotted Cow on draught. Good prices, and regular drink and food specials. The service has always been friendly. The Giggle Factory is located in Hudson Wisconsin and is a great place to take your younger kids to play. They have a station for toddlers and then a huge play place for the older kids. There are tubes and slides integrated into a big play structure that the kids have a great time on. They also serve food which is convenient.
