  10. 4.0 The Homestead (324 reviews)
    - Expensive, Worth a Visit, Remember it is Historic and Not New.
Historic Sites • Golf Courses • Spas
    The Homestead image
We love The Homestead. It is amazing. And nice to see that Omni is investing in it to bring it back up to standards. But there remain issues. The air-conditioning in our room did not work. It cycled on and off and the fins were clogged with dust which could have been the cause of the problem. There was a thick layer of dust on the tile at the top edge in the bathroom. The rooms are expensive, which should be expected. But additional taxes by the state and local government plus resort fees add an extra $100. It is annoying that after charging all that amount, they try to get another $5 whole dollars to go from 10 mbps to 30 mbps on the internet. Really, $5?! If you have never been here, it is worthwhile staying for a night or two. It is stunning. If you are a golfer, the courses are great. But remember that you are staying at a historic hotel and not a new (and sterile) copy of a chain hotel. Expect some surprises, some pleasant and others not. See more..
  11. 4.0 Homestead Ski Area (55 reviews)
    - WinterFest!
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Homestead Ski Area image
Back in February, my husband and I went to the Ski Lodge at the Homestead for some night skiing! We had an enjoyable evening starting off with a Hot Buttered Rum drink at the bar area. They made it with real ice cream! After our cocktail, we took advantage of the special night skiing. It was so much fun! It was not crowded. Next, we came inside for some delicious chili and cornbread. That warmed us up from being outside in the cold. The resort ended with some beautiful fireworks on the mountain. Very pretty reflections on the snow! Winterfest is a lot of fun! Try to go next winter if you can! See more..

  13. 3.5 The Omni Homestead Resort Snow Tubing (16 reviews)
    - Fun!!!
    Ski & Snow Tours
The Omni Homestead Resort Snow Tubing image
We tubed two days in a row. The first day was more fun, but through no fault of The Homestead. Yesterday we got to hook tubes together, ride together, just be silly. Conditions got a little icy today so we weren't allowed to do silly things. Unlike another reviewer, we were very happy to have to make reservations. It guaranteed that we were never stuck waiting. They limit tubers to 20-30 people, depending on how busy they are. We had no difficulty navigating the TINY slopes to the tubing area, but I could understand how it would be difficult for anyone with physical limitations. That said, the path was not cleared of snow from the lodge to the tubing area, nor was it clearly marked. All in all, a great time was had by all. See more..
