We went to see the cross for the first time Easter weekend. It's been on our list for a while and was well worth it. It's a steep hike up but they have benches along the way for breaks. The views are truly amazing! It is a beautiful place to visit. See more..

The historic stone chimneys are all that remains of the popular Turner Inn that was destroyed by fire in 1952. They stand as a memorial to the man who actually built them and his skill. The Chimneys are lighted at night along the famous National Road (now U.S. Route 40) in Pennsylvania, not too far from Braddock's Grave and Fort Necessity National Battleground. It does not take long to read the information associated with this "museum" and study the chimneys. Oddly, there are full-scale statues of horses which are not explained on any of the signs at this little stop. There also is a brick-making machine of the type the builder used to make his bricks. Recommended if you already are in the area for the grave and battlefield. There is no real address for this site, but the internet shows the Plus Code is V888+7P Hopwood, Pennsylvania, USA. See more..
