We had a great time at the museum! My triplet grandchildren are 7. We were visiting Massanutten Resort and decided to take the drive. I was a bit concerned about the area after what I had seen on the television and the racial tensions that are well documented.....BUT what a lovely section of the city we experienced. The people we encountered were very friendly, warm and inviting. The hands on activities were awesome! The kids were able to touch EVERYTHING! When you are 7 and curious, what a treat!! See more..

I had been to PWV 2 times before this in the summer months and it was busy and it was nice both times. Needless to say a visit in February is a bit different but just as nice, maybe even nicer than the first two times. I was traveling with my cousin and I had been telling him about PWV the past few years and our travel time allowed for us to make a stop. They have added a new tasting room with some minimal seating. They do a sa of all 12 wines for tasting. While we sat and tasted Ryan came in and we got to chatting about the winery. He is essential family/staff at the winery. Had a very nice time chatting with him and we enjoyed our tasting visit and time chatting with Ryan. See more..

- 4.0 Museum of American Jewelry Design and Manufacturing (27 reviews)
-Truly a lost art
Wednesday: Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
What a wonderful visit! We could have stayed longer, too bad there were others who wanted their attention also. We loved the stories and the background behind the jewelry. We spent a great deal of time touring and then listening to the details behind many of the different pieces in the jewelry cases. Thank goodness I don’t live in the area. I left with a lovely ring. If I lived anywhere nearby I would find my way back often. I am already planning a side trip to this location the next time we are in Virginia. See more..

- 4.0 Rocktown Trails at Hillandale Park (17 reviews)
-Beautiful way to spend an afternoon in nature
Hiking Trails
Lovely park to explore another side of Harrisburg and to get some steps and workout, without having to go further in the National Park. In no way is it comparable to Shenandoah of course, but this park is still very enjoyable. There are multiple shelters (that you can rent) to organize larger gatherings, with concrete floors, trash cans and charcoal BBQs. While running, I didn't pass by the different sport fields, nor the workout equipment... I'm not sure where they are located. However, I agree with others about how the many crossing trails may be confusing! I'd suggest downloading the free app All Trails, find the park's map and follow along real time as you're walking. See more..
