- 5.0 Flynn's On Maxwell (3 reviews)
-Good place to have a beer or wine
Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Bars & Clubs • Wine Bars
This is a combination wine and beer establishment, with some related retail items. Their beer selection is varied and includes many unusual ones, and many regional and national craft choices. Their wines include many out-of-the mainstream selections. The wines we had were both very good. It was a hot and rainy day when we visited, and we passed an enjoyable 1-1/2-2 hours. There was music that afternoon as well. Wine drink prices were comparable to other wine bars, beers were actually less expensive than many other places. Staff was friendly and helpful. See more..
- 5.0 Benjamin E. Mays Historical Preservation Site (2 reviews)
-Get an understanding of an important Civil Rights leader and see his humble birth home
Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums • Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Dr. Benjamin Mays was born in 1894 in a humble sharecropper home. That home was moved from its original location to the GLAEMNs site and you can walk through it as well as visit a period local poor black schoolhouse like Dr. Mays went to along with e museum building housing some of his artifacts and a history of a man who had little schooling until he managed to go to college then continue until he got his PhD. As the son of a sharecropper in rural segregated South Carolina, it was a major accomplishment. But he went on to become president of Morehouse University for many years, was an advisor to presidents and mentored Dr. Martin Luther King. He was a strong believer on non-violent protest and was a powerful figure in the Civil Rights movement. See more..

- 5.0 Metts Organix (1 review)
-Bio-diverse, sustainable farming at its best
Farms
A young farmer Will Metts is growing healthy produce for the Greenwood area on his farm situated at 921 Chipley Road in Greenwood, SC. This farm uses sustainable practices to grow high quality, all-natural produce. This is his third year in full-time production, and he has experienced much success and has learned how to improve his farm practices. Farming is a passion of his, and it is in his blood! Both paternal and maternal ancestors were farmers, and their respect and love of the land have been passed down to him. He would rather be no where else than outside in the fresh air working in the soil to create healthy, pesticide-free produce for the Greenwood community. Come visit him at the Uptown Market on Wednesdays or make an appointment to come out to the farm. He would love to show you around and let you see what he is doing and how he is doing it. See more..

-Wonderful farm. Lovely people.
Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Farms
We visited on a very cold, rainy day in January. This lovely couple greeted us and opened the stores for us. There were no others visiting at that time in the morning. Lovely peacocks and goats. We went up to see the massive train set. We were amazed at the time and detail put into this endeavor. Wow!! The goat’s milk products are wonderful. We will be going back soon. See more..

- 4.0 Sports Break (23 reviews)
-Great home cooking....
Bars & Clubs
We have included Sports Break as one of our regular eats. They have fresh home cooked food at very reasonable prices. Their seating policy is a real stickler for me. They will not seat your party unless the entire party is present. That is to say, if you want to order 7 plates of food and 7 seats but only have 6 people present you will have to wait. The owner is very strict on the policy because demand for seating is excessive. Needless to say, if one of us is running a bit late, we will change plans and eat elsewhere because of the owner's seating and ordering policy. See more..
