This cute little place packed a punch in the confections department. There were so many choices but you couldn't go wrong with any of them. We grabbed the chocolate covered marshmallows, fudge hearts and chocolate covered graham cracker but the best in my opinion was the Dark Chocolate Covered Potato Chip! Mind blowing. Readers' Garden Book Store is one of the things I love about Granville. There is a mix of new and used books, and the selection is very high quality and diverse. The owner and employees are happy to chat and recommend books and they have authors and artists visit occasionally for group discussions. I go about once a week because I'm a book and people lover! Styled as an older white barn (and may have been converted, not sure), this rustic spot in the middle of Granville is a nice fine. It is tucked back behind the main street, but easily walkable from local parking or any of the places to stay in the area. With five ciders on tap, a list of ciders in cans as well as beers and limited cocktails, this is a perfect place for gathering with friends and enjoying a beverage. There are some snacks available for purchase (e.g. chips, pretzels, and some small refrigerated items), but if you want something more substantial you will have to have it delivered or bring it in yourself. There are about six stools at the bar, a small stool seating area opposite of the bar, some large tables upstairs, and a decent-sized outdoor area. The only downside to me is that they are "Dog friendly" which means people bring their un-behaved dogs into the establishment and let them disturb other customers attempting to enjoy the venue. Raccoon is a good value. Yes, the course is a little rough but even though I golf only a few times a year, I can still appreciate the course layout and rolling temperament of the greens. My wife and I played the front nine and some of the fairways were pretty long. The sand traps are what I dubbed "training sand holes" because even when your ball lands directly in the sand trap, it can bounce out because it is filled with grass. That worked for me and at about $30 for 2 people playing 9 holes and a cart (my usual limit for number of holes anyway), it made for an enjoyable summer afternoon activity - plus I hit one of my first legitimate birdies (on hole 6).
