   Our family of 5 (Mom, Dad and three twenty somethings) rented cruisers and rode the trail yesterday. We had a wonderful ride. We made a reservation and the gentleman working the shop was so nice and helpful. (I'm sorry I didn't ask his name). He got us checked in, sold us a pair of gloves for my son, and adjusted our bikes. He even took a group picture of us, The path is nice and flat. We went from the shop to the bridge and just past it we parked the bikes and took a short trail down to the river level to see the original bridge piers. That was recommended by the nice man in the shop. Then we turned around and asked some questions of the DCR Worker on the bridge named Kate. She was a wealth of knowledge. Then headed back to the shop. What a wonderful way to be active and enjoying nature together. It is not insignificant that these are THE MOST COMFORTABLE bicycles ever. You sit nice and upright.    The store was closed for Covid-19, but the ladies opened the door and let us peruse. We watched them in their clay room, they teach classes on how to make pottery and other neat items. We bought some homemade coffee mugs and statuaries. he store is a popular area for the locals to do some art. Looks like alot of fun. See more..

   Had a leisurely lunch today and was treated to exceptional service by Lindsey and the crew at the Virginia tasting cellar are excellent. Enjoyed a red wine flight and cobb salad and hubby had the chicken BLT. The food was excellent amd the ambiance perfect for an afternoon by the river. The entire team came by to check on us numerous times and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Spent a few hours in the rocking chairs eating and drinking regional wine.
