   Although I go for the variety of music and friendly crowd, the bar goes a brisk business with its' craft beers and excellent customer service. The place is very cozy, colorful, and perfect for couples, groups or families. The door price for bands seem to run about five dollars a head (cheap), but the musicianship and entertainment value of most of the bands are surprisingly good. The porch outside is wonderful, and the whole place is kept immaculately clean. If they ever offer food, it'll be impossible for anyone else in town to compete, which is pretty much the case already.    The Orpheum Theater is an independent cinema and theater space located in downtown Fairfield, Iowa.    The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center in Fairfield, Iowa is a great place to see concerts, shows, ballet, musicals, etc. The seats are arranged for good viewing, even in the balcony sections. No food is for sale, but there are drinks including soda, wine and beer. We went to see the performance "John Mueller's Winter Dance Party" which celebrates Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. This was a great show.    There isn't a tour or anything so don't expect that. You just drive up to it, get out, and look around. It's really neat. Just don't go wondering around Vedic City, those are homes, not tourist attractions. See more..

   Not many people know about this place, especially the townies. It is located right next to the highway and the hospital (AmericInn Hotel too). As a barn preservation group goes, the staff of volunteers are dedicated to exposing guests to a rich history. Their tours range from 40 min to 1 hour and they answer all your questions. Not something you can experience in the city, or even most of the rural country in Iowa. See more..
