We have been to many museums in our life time, and rate the Elloree Heritage Museum at the top of our list. Elloree is a very small town and you can tell by the way this place was put together that the people of this area have a lot of pride in their little community. Beautiful exhibits well designed and with a hand control gives you the history behind each of the displays. This is a cotton farming area and much of the museum is a history of that kind of life style. I did not see once piece in this museum that was missing any part and it really give you the detail on how this equipment was made back in those days. Interestingly, the street that the Museum is on, hasn't changed since the early 1900's. This is really a must see. Stop in at the Visitors Center if your heading south as you cross Lake Marion. Drop in at the visitors center and ask for things to see in the small towns surrounding this Lake. Elloree is a short distance. We were treated very nicely at this visitors center. See more..

Small town Elloree, SC showcases a gem of an attraction in J's Tea-rific Teapot Museum. Local pharmacist Mr. Boland has collected (it all started with his gift of a teapot to his wife) and now shares his passion for all-things-teapot through a space which is shaped like, what else, a teapot! Open 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday,Thursday and Friday, the collection is mind-boggling in sheer numbers of teapots as well as the clever ways they are displayed -- by color, material, theme, subject matter, size, manufacturer, country of origin, and usage. This unique "little" museum is a not-to-be-missed showcase of one man's passion for teapots, plain and expressive. Mrs. Boland is the teapot museum's gracious guide. See more..
