Very beautiful and breath taking inside. Even if you’re not religious I think anyone can appreciate the art, architecture and history. Light a candle and say a prayer for someone…. You can also leave names of passed loved ones to be prayed for throughout the year for All Souls Day. I’m not religious but I definitely felt something while inside those walls. It was intense. 8. 4.5 Dyer-Botsford Doll Museum (15 reviews)
    - Lots To See - Not All Dolls
    Speciality Museums
    Dyer-Botsford Doll Museum image
All the different dolls from all over the world are worth seeing, but I was pleasantly surprised by the old clothing and furniture in the basement and on the first floor. All were in excellent condition, so you can get a good idea of how they would have looked when the original owners first obtained them. They had some old magazines, letters and other items, including info on Ernest Hemingway's grandparents, who lived in Dyersville. The mini-circus, clothing, old tools including hairstyling equipment, etc. in the basement were fun to see too. The museum isn't all dolls! As for the dolls, they have everything from old to fairly recent, creepy to pretty. Some were quite humorous. Just a note, this historic home has some rather steep stairs and no ramps or other accessibility aids. See more..
