   The William C Lee Airborne Museum is a delight to visit. The museum is inside the lovely former family home of William C Lee built in 1903. It was remodeled in the late 1980's into the museum.    I am so happy to see this store come to Dunn! I have gone gluten-free, because I am allergic to Wheat and also found out peanuts too. This market is great and shop at ease! I don’t have to hunt all over the store looking I have one stop shopping here. The owner is really knowledgeable and has recommended several healing items to me.    This is our second visit to this store. The owner, Cheryl is always so nice and pleasant. My husband likes to trade Banter with her. She and her Husband are new owners of this business, so the sign still reads Thrift and "Produce". So of course my husband always asks her for a peach. She smiles and says, "If you call me before your next visit, I will have you a whole basket of peaches waiting". Little does she know he may just take her up on that offer...lol. (FYI, they don't sell produce any longer). If you find your self in this quaint little town, you definitely must make her store a stop on your route.    Mac's General Store and Merchandise is a small country general store in Dunn, Carolina. Well, more of a small grocery store. The thing that makes this an attraction if you are vistinging the area is the air dried pork sausage. Their are other places in the area to get really good pork sausage, but air drying give it that rich aged flavor. It's great for cooking outside on the camp stove or in the RV while visiting your favorite campground. Mac's does offer other cut of various meats, but the pork sausage is outstanding. See more..
