    Tour Daufuskie image
Daufuskie is a very low tech island which is why I chose it. However, that means it can be difficult to understand what you will need if you are staying on the island and how to transport it from the mainland. Tour Daufuskie knew my needs before I did and when I called to rent a golf cart, they arranged pick up from the docks to the house we were staying at for us and all our luggage and groceries we were transporting as well. I also took a history tour with them while I stayed on the island and the tour guide was knowledgeable and showed us things we had missed for three days on our own exploration. When I ran short on gas mid week, they brought more gas out to our house and fueled the cart for us. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with them. See more..

We were not able to tour the facility nor taste samples due to COVID restrictions. We had a wonderful time here and purchased vodka and a blueberry/lavendar flavored vodka. Delish! Nice shirts and gift items. Oh, and my running theme for our April 2021 Daufuskie Island trip is availability of restrooms. This place had nice public restrooms. Sure made staying at the location for awhile much nicer! Haha. See more..

A very unusual location for a very unique gallery. Chase Allen produces some incredibly beautiful sculptures. Chase is a very friendly guy who was a joy to meet and visit with. 8. 4.0 Bloody Point Lighthouse (56 reviews)
    - Not your average lighthouse
    Historic Sites • Lighthouses
    Bloody Point Lighthouse image
My first couple of visits, I thought that the lighthouse was missing, because a sign out on the entrance road talks about the light tower that was once there. I finally walked through and learned that the light was in the upstairs dormer window, and the tower was a second light used to align for n navigation. You should stop here when visiting, just to get a little island history. There is a small gift/snack shop, and walk behind the building to see the "almost an angel" live oak, examples of Carolina gold rice, indigo and sea island cotton plants, as well as some of the grapes used for the Silver Dew wine (winery near by, but don't expect much there. It's a small brick building out by the road that is sometimes open selling wine spritzers and bottles of the local wine.) There is also an eagles nest out back, but they tend to move on after the spring, so you may just see an empty nest. No admission fee, so stop by for a few minutes. See more..

  11. 3.5 Daufuski Discoveries Day Tours (48 reviews)
    - A rip off
    Boat Tours
    Daufuski Discoveries Day Tours image
Booked to go out for a day trip from Harbourtown Hilton Head Island. Cost of round trip $29.50pp which was good value as it was a pleasant 30 minute boat trip both ways on a comfortable boat, saw plenty of wildlife - birds and dolphins. We elected to rent a golf buggy to explore Daufuskie at $30pp ($60 for a buggy). Buggy we got was a bit dilpatated and regularly backfired - speed nothing above about 4-5mph so it took quite a while to get around the island. The sights we visited were well signed and interesting. Only one place to get a coffee - by the ferry stop and that was only instant coffee at $2.50 a cup - expensive. The island is worth a visit but don't get the golf buggy. There is a guided bus tour - but we never saw the bus once whilst we were on our travels so not sure where it went. - cost for that was about $20 each. No restrooms anwhere on the island apart from in coffee shop at ferry. See more..
