We were the first ones to do the wine tasting this particular rainy Sat. morning. We had the place to ourselves for a short while. Our sommelier was wonderful, helpful, and humorous, but we got to chat and enjoy all the others, too. The wine is wonderful and they have many varieties. The vineyard is easy to get to and in a beautiful setting. If you buy 3 wines you get a discount. Just as we finished, tour van pulled up with a group. Love it that we were first. Down the road is a Monastery that sells gouda cheese made by nuns--perfect complement for the wine. I love Virginia! See more..

  12. 4.5 Crozet Tunnel Greenway (2 reviews)
    - Unique walk in the dark
    Hiking Trails
    Crozet Tunnel Greenway image
This was a very unique hike. It’s roughly 2.5 miles if you start at the parking lot, walk to the other side and back. It’s a nice flat walk that most kids can handle. Wear closed toed shoes so you’re not kicking gravel out of your sandals. Also, you will want older shoes since there can be wet areas inside the cave. Bring a few bright headlamps or a few good flashlights since the tunnel is very dark. Cell phone flashlights won’t cut. See more..

    Pro Re Nata image
Came here one Tuesday evening with co-workers for a few drinks and to watch karaoke. I was surprised by the amount of amazing talent that was there and also by the fact that nearly everyone there decided to sign up to sing! They’re all mostly locals who know each other, which was great for those of us just there for the show, as they let loose and had a great time. PRN has a nice selection of drinks and food from food trucks that area featured outside. The place is interesting… lots of big rooms/outdoor areas to sit, sip and nosh. It has a cool, fun, party vibe to it… I can see it being very popular. I’m more into laid back atmospheres though, so the vibe wasn’t quite my thing, though I did have a good time. See more..
  16. 4.0 Henley's Orchard (1 review)
    - Wonderful, local fruit orchard in Crozet VA.
    Farmers Markets
Henley's Orchard is a family owned and local fruit orchard in quiet Crozet VA. If you want to get out in the country side, but not far from town, make a stop here. The folks who run the orchard are friendly and helpful. The nectarines, peaches and apples are fresh and tasty. They have a parlor where fresh baked goods, apple cider and other fruit treats will be served later in the season. Look for their Fall Festival! See more..
  17. 3.0 Frazier Discovery Trail (2 reviews)
    - Simple, skip it.
    Hiking Trails
No one has bothered to post a review or photo because the only thing you "discover" on this hike is that there are trails not worth your time in Shenandoah. As with the majority of trails in the park this one goes up and down, rare level parts of the path at the top of the hill. There are no fruit trees noticeable despite its heritage as orchard area, or if they are there the park service did not post any descriptive signs or material. Two viewpoints are nice, but views are plentiful in Shenandoah so don't make that the reason you take this trail. Park on the north end Loft Mountain Wayside and the trailhead is across Skyline Drive, just to the left of the road leading to the campground. See more..
