The Eagles Nest Tap at Coppock should not be missed especially in the summer (or spring, fall, winter). It a gem of a place, I would expect to hear ringing of the Village Smithy's hammer. The Chestnuts are gone as are the great elms but there are plenty of trees near the tavern. The Tavern deck has an unforgettable, quiet view of a bend in the Skunk River. You can look back in time here, I've done it. Your imagery includes at least two old bridge pillars, one from 1936. Also, there are usually a couple Jon boats tied to shore, fishermen like a restful interlude too. I do not drink a drop so I had a Coke. My mom and son also had soft drinks and we sat on the Tavern deck and enjoyed the view, the good people therein and the day. Places like this are very rare, do stop and enjoy. See more..
