There is quality and quantity here in equal measure...beautiful displays of thousands of points, arrowheads, axes and more from the Clovis period through modern times. Local Revolutionary and Civil war history is brought to life, along with the story of Cayce. Our visit was even more enjoyable, thanks to the knowledgeable and affable director. 5. 5.0 Guignard Brick Works (2 reviews)
    - we just stumbled upon this
Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Guignard Brick Works image
We were passing through Cayce looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon these dome shaped brick buildings. Also on the property was a square brick building. We had no idea what they were so we googled and was able to find that they were beehive brick kilns and the other building was the office. They were used in the 1920s to make bricks from the clay from the Congaree River. However, the Guignard family had been making bricks on that site since 1801. Also on the corner property is part of the rail that was used to transport the bricks. They were so neat. Unfortunately people were going inside the kilns and vandalizing them with graffiti. They now have gates up at the doors but you can still look inside. The brick parking area is made from bricks that are very old and were probably made right there in those kilns. Be careful walking on them because they are rough, uneven, and broken. See more..

    Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve image
this 2.5 mile trail is excellent for hiking through forests and water ares. not many markings make for a wonderful adventure. Yes, I was lucky to observe a large gator resting on the banks of the water filled clay pits of the old brickyard. many great plant life can be observed. Very peaceful, yet the flow of the interstate nearby can be heard. Observed some dear tracks, dragonflies were great. The trail does get tricky when it gets near the Congaree creek. The numerous Alligator warning signs does keep one alert.takes about 1 to 2 hrs to complete depending on how fast you walk. worth visiting. Free of charge!! See more..

The flood ravaged the greenway. There are still sections that are gone. I can't wait for all the repairs to be made. This area is truly the hidden jewel of the Columbia/Cayce downtown. See more..
  9. 3.0 AMF Park Lanes (6 reviews)
    - Just a regular bowling alley
Bowling Alleys • Game & Entertainment Centers
Nothing over the top about the bowling alley. The grounds are clean but need to be updated. The music wasn't loud enough and I wish they would turn the black lights on earlier than 10 pm. Prices are reasonable to play, a little pricey on the concessions. It can get packed on a Sunday night with a bunch of college kids who of course don't know how to behave. Other than that it was a fun place to go for a last minute activity. See more..
