- 5.0 Orion Fishing Charters (10 reviews)
-Great day on the lake with Capt. Chris!
Fishing Charters & Tours
Had a great day out on the water with Capt. Chris yesterday! I booked a fishing trip for my 14 year old son who is passionate about fishing and I am a complete amateur. I also brought his good friend along. The boys and I had an amazing time, and Capt. Chris was a great host and teacher. We caught lots of spotted bass, a striped bass, a big mouth bass and a big channel catfish! My son was excited to have a good "fight" with a few of the bass and the catfish. We also saw a large bald eagle. What an awesome experience. We are looking forward to booking again this winter for crappie fishing. Thanks for such a great experience, Capt. Chris! See more..
- 5.0 Southern Biplanes (9 reviews)
-Aerobatic Flight in the Stearman, What a Great Adventure!
Air Tours
I was able to fly in the Stearman with Mike at Southern Biplanes this past weekend. We had an exciting aerobatic flight above the Calhoun area. Mike is a professional, and safety-oriented pilot with many years of experience. The loops, barrel rolls, hammerhead stalls, and aileron rolls were performed smoothly and I could not stop grinning (see attached photos of this old grandpa smiling way too big). I have been to many air shows over the years, but experiencing the thrill of seeing it from inside is a memory I will treasure. See more..

- 5.0 Woodland Hills Golf Club (1 review)
-Great round of golf
Golf Courses
This is a beautifully maintained, but challenging hill course. It is difficult to find a flat lie even in the middle of the fairway. Ball placement is critical. You will find few sand traps, but water is abundant. The elevated tee boxes make driving interesting. Walking 18 holes is not an option, but is really not practical with the hills. The clubhouse staff is very friendly and professional. See more..

- 4.5 Red Top Mountain State Park (357 reviews)
-Hiking Trails are Stunning
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM State Parks
This popular park on Lake Allatoona is ideal for swimming, water skiing and fishing. Visitors can bring their own boats or rent from nearby marinas. A sand swimming beach is nestled in a cove and surrounded by trees, providing a great place to cool off during summer. Picnic shelters and group shelters may be rented for meetings, parties, reunions and other celebrations. Guests often stay overnight in rental cottages, a spacious campground or the park’s lakeside yurt. While best known for the 12,000-acre lake, Red Top Mountain is also a hiker’s haven. More than 15 miles of trails wind through the forested park, providing opportunities for exercise and nature photography. A short, paved trail behind the park office is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, welcoming guests to explore a reconstructed 1860s homestead. The gravel-topped 4-mile Iron Hill Trail is open to both hikers and bikers, offering pretty views of the lake’s shoreline.Named for the soil’s rich red color caused by high iron-ore content, Red Top Mountain was once an important mining area. Iron pour programs are occasionally held near the Vaughn Cabin behind the park office. See more..

- 4.5 Cooper's Furnace Day Use Area (31 reviews)
-Furnace, Trails, River, & Dam - What else could you want?
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
This is one of those small parks on the Etowah River right before it goes to Lake Alltoona. You can see the remains of the furnace of course but, there are some trails as well. The park is owned by the Corp of Army Engineers I believe. The dead end of the street ends at Alltoona Dam. There are a number of stairs leading down to the river. A word of caution ; they can increase the flow of water from the dam just upstream at any time. There are toilets provided by the furnace. Also there is a park with swings and such for small kids, small soccer field, etc. I’d recommend this for anyone in the area who wants a quick getaway to be in some nature and check out a dam. See more..

- 4.5 Allatoona Pass Battlefield Park (29 reviews)
-Do you have an ancestor who fought in the Civil War Battle of Allatoona Pass?
Hiking Trails
The Battle of Allatoona Pass, while billed as one of the 'lesser' battles after the fall of Atlanta, was one of the bloodiest based on the 35% Union casualty rate and the Confederate 27%. This is a battlefield that has been well documented with signage by the Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites. If you wish to visit and appreciate to context for the battle, you will need to do some walking - a mile or so with some climbing as shown in the photo. The only part of the battlefield that cannot be seen is Roulettes Redoubt to the west of the Star Fort; it is all forest with undergrowth and appears to be on private land. See more..
- 4.5 Terminus Wake Park (24 reviews)
-Awesome place
Spent 2-3 hours Water Parks
We stumbled upon this camp last year and it has been a big hit with our son. He is back this year as well. First day of camp he wasn’t able to get of a dock and ride but he didn’t give up and few days later he was already doing jumps. He also liked the aqua park. We brought some of his friends there in the afternoons. This year he prefers to spend more time wakeboarding, we added membership so that he can stay extra time after the camp. Awesome experience, little far to drive for us but worth it! I’d much rather he spends time active and outdoors and especially after he discovered how much he enjoyed doing it See more..

- 4.5 Lake Allatoona (7 reviews)
-Summer Fun!
Bodies of Water
I grew up in Canton as a child and spent almost every summer on Lake Allatoona. While I currently live in South Florida and enjoy the beach, there is just something special about being out on the lake in the summertime. This year when visiting friends, our family was fortunate enough to go out on our friends' boat and go tubing. For us Floridians, swimming in a lake that is alligator free is rare. Our daughter had the best time tubing, and I encourage anyone staying in the area to check it out! See more..
