Really neat boutique type shop with super funky good. We spent about an hour perusing this shop, and while we didn't buy much (vacation on a budget), we had a great time laughing at some of the goods and seeing all the eccletic things the shop offered. I was also impressed by the handmade jewlery selection. See more..

    Carrboro Yoga Company image
Was in town for business and dropped in for a few classes. Laura was awesome and made us feel right at home. It can be intimidating taking an unfamiliar class, but Laura made us feel welcome and helped us work out the kinks from an all day business class. Love the location, wood floors, huge picture windows overlooking beautiful oak trees. Peace ... finally on the road. Thank you! See more..

  7. 5.0 Peccadillo (1 review)
    - Modern speakeasy
    Sunday: 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM Spent 1-2 hours Bars & Clubs
Hidden behind a unmarked, shabby warehouse door, down an alley in Carrboro, you'll find a proper bar, with a white-jacketed barkeep who mixes very fine martinis, Negronis, and old-faahioneds. That's it for cocktails, and who needs anything else? The food is equally constrained and well-chosen: pâté, a cheese plate, charcuterie. They have an excellent wine list. The prices verge on outrageous, but this is not a place I'm likely to go every night or even every week. If you think of it as show business, it's less painful. And it is a great show. They open at 5:00 and close at 2:00. I've been there on the early side, when it's quiet and you can chat in a leisurely way with friends or the bartender. I gather it gets more crowded later. Some might prefer it that way, but not me. See more..
  8. 5.0 Townsend Bertram & Company (1 review)
    - Wonderful locally owned outdoor shop
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
Townsend Bertram & CO has been a staple of the Carrboro/Chapel Hill outdoor scene since 1988, offering a wide variety of outdoor gear, clothing and shoes. The service has consistently been fantastic, from the initial greeting passing through the doorway to the support while looking for an item. I've shopped here for years and every single interaction has left me wanting to come back. TB&CO offers a wide variety of products to fit most any budget, however most everything I've looked at while shopping has been a premium product . I highly recommend checking them out if you're an outdoors person looking for great gear. You don't be disappointed. See more..

Staff, especially exhibit coordinator at the time, Laurie Ritchie, were absolutely wonderful! Our exhibit was a success and it was great getting support from the local community. Classes here are wonderful also and I really appreciate the art exhibited during art walks. A++ See more..

I have dropped by Steel String several times and always enjoy the beer. I like to try different experimental beers and they don’t disappoint. I like the patio for a good combination of coziness and people watching. Also, the designs on the beer glasses are fun and varied. Adds to the experience. I have gotten some of my favorite T shirts there and the glasses make good presents. All and all, worth a stop. See more..
  12. 4.5 Cat's Cradle (7 reviews)
    - Excellent venue!
    Theaters
    Cat's Cradle image
Came to Cat’s Cradle to see Cavetown, with my 14 year old daughter. Parking was no problem, as the garage is right beside the venue. Getting in, showing tickets/ID/vaccine cards was a quick process. The venue felt extremely safe, with staff walking around handing out water to anyone needing something to drink. We sat on the side and still was able to see the stage perfectly. I will definitely be back for other shows and will recommend others to come here, as well. See more..

Hand crafted by artists, Bowbarr is a true destination spot. This bar is cozy and interesting. The music is from a record player, a stone and sea shell mosaic sink in the bathroom, stenciled striped ceiling, custom booths and concrete bar with wood inlay, rainbow colored lights and a vintage photo booth. The cocktails are unique and refreshing, with house made sour and bloody mary mixes along with infused simple syrups. See more..
  18. 3.5 Yester Years (5 reviews)
    - Well, we tried, we learned and will not repeat that mistake.
    Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
Stopped in for a beer with my wife and adult son mid afternoon prior to a wedding were we were attending. Thinking of a light refreshing beer we ordered some Hefeweisen. Major mistake, epic fail. Instead we were served some dark bitter beer that was nothing what we expected. Fortunately, Old Hickory Hefeweisen was served at the wedding reception and was everything that Yester Years wasn't. Yester Years had 1 bartender which also slowed service significantly. Maybe their coffee is good, their beer and service isn't. The outside seating ans general causal atmosphere was fine. See more..
  19. 3.5 Scavenger Antiques (3 reviews)
    - some booths were a little tight
    Antique Shops
    Scavenger Antiques image
The place really did not any collectibles when we visited. It was mostly furniture with some odds and ends. Many of the booths were a little tight and you had to turn sideways to scoot through the merchandise (a pet peeve of mine) or move something that was in the way. However, the people working in there were very nice and it's definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. See more..
