This place had absolutely EVERYTHING! It was amazingly organized & clean. Public restroom available. Felt quaint but with tons of items. The ladies at the front were so friendly and welcoming. I stayed until closing time (several hours) and they did not rush me out at all. They offered help and then hung back (not pushy/no pressure to buy anything). Great experience & ai did get a few items! This is now a MUST STOP on our drive to the coast. See more..

Back in 2008, when looking for grave plots for my wife and myself I found a pair the that were in a beautiful location. It had lovely trees very quiet historic tombstones, it was perfect. The self guided tour is fascinating. I went every Friday to place flowers on her grave and often drive around and look at the historic markers. Marie is buried just down from Little Arlington. If in Camden SC it is worth spending an hour or two driving an walking around. It is only 2 blocks or so from. 521 heading towards Sumter. Turn right as you reach Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park There is a sign pointing to it is only around 2 or 3.long blocks from 521. If you are looking for fine antiques, this is the place for you. We are more into collectibles but still loved looking around this place. You can find 18th and 19th century furniture here. It used to be an old livery stable. The man working there loved to talk about it's history and the history of the town. See more..

Antiques & Fine Consignment of Camden image
If painted furniture is what you are looking for, you have to check this place out. They also have many different types of things. I think the lady told us the old building used to be a mercantile store. I even found something I didn't know I needed. They really know how to draw a person in too, with pops of color everywhere. It made it fun to walk through this place. Unfortunately some of the areas were cluttered so we just passed those by so we wouldn't trip or knock something over. Vendors? A cluttered booth is not a good thing. See more..
  13. 4.0 Camden Revolutionary War Site (120 reviews)

    Camden Revolutionary War Site image
Fascinating historical site. Definitely recommend taking the tour - Only way to see inside the buildings. We had knowledgeable tour guide that answered all our questions and seemed to love his subject material. Main site has historical buildings. Gift shop has displays and a video worth watching. No food. We took our lunch and ate it at the picnic tables - very pleasant. You can drive to the actual battlefield site (about 8 miles away) and tour it. It is a pleasant walk in the woods with some monuments and signage. See more..
  14. 4.0 Goodale State Park (38 reviews)
    - A Fun Paddling Experience
Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM State Parks
    Goodale State Park image
Kayaked the trail and it was lovely. The start is well marked after crossing the lake, and the directional signs are easy to see posted on the trees both coming and going back. Even though it was a hot day (96 degrees) we were not bothered by bugs and it was cooler with the canopy of trees. Did not see any alligators or snakes, but there was an abundance of active wasp nests on the cypress trees so just be careful that you don't accidentally disturb one with your paddle or oar! It took about 1.5 hours to complete, but we did pick up the pace as we got caught in an afternoon rain storm. The park ranger kindly drove his truck to the put-in to make sure we were out of the water ok. A great experience, and a nice paddle for all skill levels. See more..
  15. 4.0 Springdale Race Course (6 reviews)
    - Twice a year Race tract, Once a year Party!
Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 10:30 PM Spent More than 3 hours Horse Tracks
First race (usuallya0 in the spring is the largest tail gate party in SC, good horse racing too. Fall race, the Saturday before Thanksgiving is the last of the seasons steeple chase race and important for seasonal championships. Different crowd, better for children. Still a good party, but a bit more restrained. By a grandstand seat, it's worth it for the view alone. See more..

Heritage Antique Mall and Cafe image
If you are looking for vintage and antique furniture, you should check out this place. They really don't have collectibles (that's what we look for) but they did have some nice furniture. It's wide open and very easy to get around. When we were there it didn't look like the cafe was being used but their website still mentions the cafe. See more..
  20. 3.5 Battle of Camden Historic Site (18 reviews)
    - Patriot loss during the Revolution
    Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites
Battle of Camden Historic Site image
I went to both the historic site and the battlefield. There is onsite parking at both. The battlefield has a few monuments and markers, but there is not currently much to it. The gentleman at the historic site said they were planning on improvements. The historic site was unique, but due to a festival in the immediate area tours were suspended and most buildings were closed. Walking around was still pretty interesting. There is a 10 minute drive between sites. No one is physically located at the battlefield, but if you call in advance you can set up a walking tour for a small price. See more..
  21. 3.0 Amtrak (5 reviews)
    - Interesting and convenient facility - arrival/departure times not so much
    Rail Services
This station is attractive and in a great location. It has ample parking, too, but not sure I'd be comfortable leaving my car there overnight. Unfortunately, that's when the train stops in Camden... And, if you arrive in Camden that time of the night, there's not a whole lot to do until daylight... See more..
