   This is a fascinating place. The detail of the building replicas is amazing. I have visited 2x, taking a group of 8 seniors the 2nd time. The walking paths are narrow in some places, but we had one person using a rolling walker and were able to get a view of all formations from some location, even though she could not take the walker on some of the paths. It is a relaxing place, very spiritual. If you have difficulty walking, take your cane with you, take your time, and you will still enjoy this. Admission is free but donations are requested to help with the maintenance. See more..

   We are interested in the Cherokee and the awful removal of the people during the Trail of Tears. I was researching some info and found the New Echota Historical Site in Calhoun Ga. I highly recommend this trip. Very educational and very knowledgeable staff. New Echota was the Capital of the Cherokee until the removal in 1838. When you first enter and after paying the small fee you can view the museum area which has some very informative displays. You can watch a short video of around 15 minutes which is extremely informative. Once done inside you then do the self guided tour outside via a tour map. Very well worth this amazing visit.    Played Calhoun Elks Club golf course with a friend while on a golf trip. it is an 18-hole par-35 course. They have three sets of tees measuring 4824-, 5655- and 5985-yards. The course was in nice condition and was enjoyable to play. At least 3 holes had water someplace. Some bunkers but not excessive. See more..
