   Most of the camping spots here are the drive-in type where you park in your campsite and put up your tent next to the car. The Potawatomi sites have electricity at each site and full bathrooms (toilets/urinals, sinks, & showers) which lessens complaints from the non-campers. It is an easy 20 minute drive over to Reed's canoes in Bourbonnais. My wife and I took two canoes with our two boys and made the 12 mile journey in 3 hours 30 minutes. Sites are on the small side but that was all we needed. It's a state park...not a Hilton ;) See more..

   Exploration Station...a children's museum is a hands-on exploration and discovery museum for children and their families, teachers and other caregivers. At Exploration Station children can climb inside the tower of a castle, drive a fire truck, fly an airplane, shop in a grocery store, be a mechanic, dig for dinosaur bones, and much more! Children of all ages are welcome at the museum, however, the majority of the exhibits are designed for children between the ages of 2-8 years old.    The Letourneau Museum was the home of Bourbonnais's first mayor, George R. Letourneau. In 1986, it was moved to its present location and restored. Now headquarters of the Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society, it preserves the local history of this community, which was settled by French-Canadians.    I was excited to eat here , because all the locals liked it..( Well many do ) I walked in , I was warmly welcomed there is a pretty good bar menu and that's about where it ended... I ordered the pretzel appetizer and the grease was dripping off of the pretzels when they were served...
