The Haunted 1889 McInteer Villa image
My dad always wanted to go in to this house when he was growing up. He passed away this past April and we came back to spread his ashes. My mom and I took the tour and it was fantastic. The house is beautiful and the activity was crazy. This was during the day. Foot steps, smells, whistles. The doll in the picture I’m posting looked so much like my dad from far away that it unnerved me. The owner told us his name was Thomas. That’s my dads name. She bought him this past April. It could be coincidence or it could be my dad telling me he finally got to see the inside. Either way, I recommend going to tour this beautiful house. See more..

Theatre Atchison does one musical and several other plays each year. The venue is small and intimate (about 215) seats, but the talent for this community theatre is phenomenal. My granddaughter wanted to stop here, late in the evening, as she had read about the paranormal activity. We visited the site and were not disappointed. We did get to hear a "moan". Not sure if it was paranormal, or a hoax, but it was a memory that will stick with us. Would recommend visitng the park in the daytime to get the lay of the land before venturing out in the dark. Never go alone...you just don't know what's out there. See more..

The house was built in 1861 in a Gothic Revival style & is on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River. This Benedictine Abbey Church is very beautiful and so worth a visit. The Abbey Church was built in the 1950s and reflects a mid-century design. The fresco behind the altar is stunning and something which needs to be view while sitting in one of the front pews. If you view it in that manner you may sit an truly absorb the beauty and it's meaning. This Abbey Church is warmed by wonderful natural light from the windows which makes it very welcoming. There are of course the market fresh fruits and vegetables but also, baked goods, honey, meat products direct from the producer, tortillas, fresh roasted coffee to drink and brew at home. You have to get their early to get baked goods from the pie lady but it is well worth it. Local honey and fresh roasted coffee cannot be beat. Spent More than 3 hours Mysterious Sites
    The Sallie House image
I was here during the day. My son and I did not see or hear anything paranormal. It was very crowded, and someone had brought their young children here, who were running through the house making all sorts of noise, so I'm sure that didn't help. The basement is closed off, and the house is very bright during the day. Lots of windows. We did not need to turn on any lights while we were there. The tour is self guided, and there's very little information, other than a few notes stuck on the wall throughout the house. I'm glad I saw this anyway, it's been on my bucket list forever. See more..
