  13. 4.5 Sadlers Creek State Park (46 reviews)
    - beautiful park
    Spent 2-3 hours State Parks
    Sadlers Creek State Park image
I was only at the park for a few hours but this was absolutely the most beautiful state park I've seen in South Carolina to date. Full disclosure, I haven't visited them all yet but I will as I am doing the Ultimate Outsider Challenge. Lake Hartwell is huge with a lot of boats on it, but because of the size you don't hear the boats buzzing by, just the gentle lapping of the waves on the shore. From where I sat eating my lunch I could see a family wading through the shallow water connecting the main land to an island. The nature trail was short but well-marked and led me to the fishing pier where people were trying to catch their dinner. See more..

  18. 4.5 Rocky River Nature Park (4 reviews)
    - Hidden Hiking
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
    Rocky River Nature Park image
I moved to Anderson about a year ago and the one thing I have missed having access to is hiking. I love downtown Anderson and the activities the community puts on, but being able to get into nature without having to drive too far has been a challenge (and if you know of other places within 15-20 minutes - please share!) Anyway, the review for this popped up when I was doing some reviews for other places in the area. I'm so grateful that it did! I have been there a few times and really enjoy this space. I'll attach a few photos of the different trail markings to give you an idea. I haven't explored everything, but the trails don't seem too long or too strenuous. It's just nice to get out and explore a bit. I hope others find the space, but I admit that I love it when there aren't others around. I've gone out with a friend a few times and the quiet and solitude is really, really wonderful. See more..

  21. 4.0 NewSpring Church (102 reviews)
    - A church alive is worth the drive
    Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Churches & Cathedrals
Biblically, the church is not a building… it's a people. It's a people that love God and love others. It's a people that celebrate. It's a people that bless and serve those around them. It's a people that listen well to those around them that do not yet know Jesus as Lord. It's also a people who know how to rest and work to the glory of God. While the church is not a building, what happens in the building builds the church. We invite you to visit NewSpring Church in Hilton Head and see what our loving Father is doing through us as we live out the Gospel in our words and actions. Scott Norris See more..

    Kid Venture Playground image
So pleased to visit Kid Venture playground and note they have put up a gate on both the Toddler and the Main playgrounds. I am in my 70's and just couldnt keep ahead of my 2 & 3 year old greatgrandsons when they'd head towards the pond! I dont have to worry about chasing them down now. Kid Venture has been greatly improved. I would love to see the picture of the old yellow swing removed that I posted some time ago. New swings have been added, the ducks cant get in and the toddlers can get out now. Not sure who to thank, the City of Anderson, Parks & Recreation, but we now have a safe clean playground of which we can be proud! See more..
  26. 3.5 Massage Envy Spa Anderson (9 reviews)

I have been here a few times for a massage and have always enjoyed my experience. The entire staff is friendly. I personally didn't sign up just because I don't get enough massages to warrant that, but it is a good deal for those in need of more regular massages. See more..
