    We stopped to see some of the historic sights in this small town on our route from Johnson City to Roanoke as its just off I-81. The architecture is congruous from the Barter Theater, Martha Washington Inn, United Methodist Church, General District Court Clerk and Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church. Then there is this 1846 stone Episcopal Church looking like it should head the town square in Dorset, England. Beautiful buildings. See more..

    This is actually my third visit to the center and each time is just as exciting as the one before because they have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool for public use with a $5.00 cover charge. Many of the local school swim teams practice here and it also has playgrounds for small children, in and outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, weight & exercise rooms in which you can personally hire your own trainer who by the name is Adam Parks. There are always lifeguards in the pool are which I can personally give hat's off to Alex and Bryce for their good works. I would recommend this place to almost anyone with a taste for workouts. We stopped in on a beautiful fall day so the indoor seating was more like outdoor seating with all the doors open to take advantage of the weather. There was a nice selection available on tap.     Visited based on prior reviews and this small museum lived up to all expectations! Very informative with an engaging presentation, the exhibit itself was excellent. Our visit was made even better by the staff member (can’t recall her name but we visited on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend), who added great additional tidbits that really helped bring this interesting bit of history alive.     Have been going to Zephyr Antiques for years. It has 4 floor of marvelous, reasonably priced antiques. I usually find old records or books. The staff is very friendly and as I am lucky enough to live close by, I come quite often (especially rainy days) It is a wonderful place for Christmas shopping (went yesterday) and the gifts have so much more meaning than Walmart junk from China.
