    Bangla Road image
Adjacent to Patong Beach, this buzzing and vibrant strip is a great place to start your Phuket pub crawl. Enter past the iconic Patong Beach sign and prepare your senses for the neon lights, throngs of tourists and touts, street vendors selling snacks, and dance anthems pumping from the plethora of go-go bars and clubs. Those planning to partake in the evening festivities can purchase skip-the-line tickets in advance for entry to various nightclubs. Bangla Road sees dense crowds, especially during the peak holiday season in December. Park yourself at a bar, grab a beer and watch the night unfold. – Tripadvisor See more..
  2. 4.5 Big Buddha Phuket (16.6k reviews)
    - A must see
Friday: 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
    Big Buddha Phuket image
What a beautiful experience, we feel very grateful to be able to see the big Buddha up close and to have the blessing and bracelet from the monks. When we arrived it was pouring rain, thunder, lightning and then 30min later it was sunny and clear! Be sure to take covering for your shoulder and legs, but if you forget you can buy a wrap at 150 bhat each. Amazing site, you can't go to phukewithout visiting the Big Buddha See more..

  6. 4.5 Nai Harn Beach (4.419 reviews)
    - A nice beach for swimming and lounging
    Beaches • Lookouts
    Nai Harn Beach image
Naiharn beach is a gorgeous beach for swimming and hanging out in lounge chairs. For 200 baht you can rent a pair of loungers and an umbrella but you have to get there early for the good spots, preferably before 9:30 am during peak season. You can buy fruit and snacks nearby for what is probably an inflated price but it's convenient for sure. Remember to pack your sunscreen and plenty of water. The water can be calm but also remember to look at the colour of the flag on the beach to make sure you're a skilled enough swimmer to manage it. There is a nice lagoon area for children on the left side of the beach. See more..
  7. 4.5 Freedom Beach (3.727 reviews)
    - Gorgeous Beach - but go early
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Freedom Beach image
I arrived about 10 yesterday Not many people there. Water was crystal clear and very inviting. Beach vendors were just setting up and only a few people on the beach It is a great beach, fun for families and perfect place to relax. Umbrella and matt were free as long as you bought your drinks and snacks from the vendors and prices are cheaper than patong beach. Does get a bit hectic after lunch and by 1 pm, it resembled patong beach, counting 10 plus boats docked against the beach , meaning you have to swim between the boats. My preference is take the boat at 1500 baht and get there early with the aim of departing after lunch. I would go as soon as you can as I feel that this spot may be ruined as it's popularity increases See more..
  8. 4.5 Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) (3.458 reviews)
    - Magnificent Temples
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts • Religious Sites
    Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) image
Absolutely beautiful temples and artwork. There are multiple temples and the half hour allowed on the 6 hour city tour is not adequate to see everything. A separate longer visit (60-120 minutes) is recommended to fully appreciate the splendour of the temples . See more..
  9. 4.5 Karon Viewpoint (2.868 reviews)
    - Awesome views
    Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Lookouts
    Karon Viewpoint image
Generally as observed back here, view points are tourist spots with word of mouth publicity and known among the travel community. But never saw them with official recognition as is Karon view point with proper identification and basic facility for public use available. And its rightly fan fared with really beautiful astonishing views and all 3 beach archs visible in sequence Kata, Karon and Kata-Noi. I liked it and would really recommend visiting it before you go and relax on any of these beaches, the uber level beauty observed stays in your mind adding to the enjoyment factor while at beach :) See more..
  10. 4.5 Kata Noi Beach (2.820 reviews)
    - Possibly the best beach in Thailand
    Kata Noi Beach image
If there's a better beach in Thailand, I have yet to see it (in some 12 visits). The white sand has the perfect texture, and the seawater is very clear. For those not staying in the Katathani Hotel, an umbrella and two padded loungers are available for 250 baht. Occasional yellow signs warn against 'stingers in the sea during summer time'. By this, they mean jelly fish. We never saw any, and the notices may have been advised by lawyers to absolve anyone of blame if a swimmer did get stung seriously. Because the beach is West facing, there are beautiful sunsets most nights. See more..
  11. 4.0 Kamala Beach (2.626 reviews)
    - Clean and relaxing
    Kamala Beach image
Probably one of the best beach in Phuket. This is because Kamala Beach is clean, the vibe is more chill than other touristy beaches e.g. Patong, and there are plenty of amazing Thais/Western restaurant to dine in along the beach. There are plenty of massage parlour along the main road of the beach as well. Highly recommend to visit the beach at around 5pm just about when the sun is setting for the amazing view to complement your dinner time. Overall, Kamala Beach is perfect for family and those who seek peace away from the hustle and bustle of Patong. See more..
  12. 4.5 Promthep Cape (1.982 reviews)
    - Must visit
    Promthep Cape image
This is probably best view pint in Phuket with a full view of the sea. seems the sea everywhere around you. Some tip for visiting: 1. If you drive the car by your own, have to be there not later than 4.30 pm, others vise will be very difficult find place for parking. Parking area not much big and at 5pm totally full. 2. If you would like to go down to the rock untill end, set the time to be back becore dark. The way down (untill end point) takes around 30 minuts (plus stop for take a pict). The sunset time is very fast to be dark, and the narrow is very path with a lot of high grass and rock. Not much save for night time. But for day time is save. But it is worth going down, when you are sitting in the rock of the end poin, felling look like you are in the end of the wolrd. Strong recomend!!! See more..

    - Fascinating
Spent More than 3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Walking Areas
    Old Phuket Town image
We decided to take a trip through Old Phuket Town. This is a relatively small area but take it slow and wander, you will find plenty of hidden gems. Once know as the Red Light District Soi Romanee is popular with its pastel coloured Sino- Portuguese houses. Apart from the amazing colourful Colonial houses you can eat your way around with some amazing street food. Street art and various murals have brightened up street corners adding a colourful character to the already charming district. A walk to explore this area is a must making it hard to put your camera away. If you love heritage & culture - Do it. See more..
  14. 4.0 Naka Market (1.922 reviews)
    - Food, shopping and entertainment
Spent 2-3 hours Flea & Street Markets
    Naka Market image
Phuket Weekend Market, also known as Talad Tairod by the locals, is hailed as Phuket’s largest night market. There’s an endless jumble of goods for sale here, including clothing, accessories, souvenirs, shoes, and all sorts of electronics. The food spread is equally vast—you can find fried snacks, fruit salads, and even deep-fried insects. If you’re looking to have a full meal, there are several dine-in seafood restaurants. This weekend market is also located opposite Naka Temple. As parking spaces are limited, hop on a taxi or tuktuk (Thailand's three-wheeled open-air vehicles) to get here with ease. – Tripadvisor See more..
  15. 4.0 Surin Beach (1.907 reviews)
    - Tranquil Beach
    Surin Beach image
Great beach experience. See "Tim" the massage tent lady for a great massage. Beach umbrella and lounge service very good and of course the beach is outstanding as most beaches in Phuket are. Kamala beach is another competitive beach to this one, as is Karon Beach. I like Surin though as it is more secluded and tranquil. I recommend going earlier in the day as the wind is low and light not so intense. See more..

  17. 4.0 Rawai Beach (1.715 reviews)
    - Not for swimming, but ok for lunch
    Rawai Beach image
Rawai is not a swimming beach, but is used primarily as a boat harbor. There are a few shaded areas for relaxing under the trees however. If you head to the southern end of the beach, there are a number of restaurants along the waterfront. Excellent place for lunch. Not a bad seat anywhere. Public toilets are not too spiffy, and cost 10b. See more..

  20. 4.5 Monkey Hill (1.145 reviews)
    - Incredible night experience
Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Monkey Hill image
I live in Phuket, and my go-to-spot for some relaxation is the Monkey Hill. The view, the nature and the calmness puts my mind at ease every single time. Altough you won't see any monkeys during the night, the view is in my opinion totally worth the travel! During a clear night, you can see the mountain tops over the horizon, the moving traffic in the far distance and the wonderfull colors of the city. I strongly recommend to go with either car or motorbike to the viewpoint if you go during night as there are A LOT of stray dogs on the road and it is not well lighted. At some points of the road to the view point, you will have to drive with no lighting at all, except from your vehicle. See more..

  22. 4.0 Patong Boxing Stadium (1.122 reviews) from $53.55
    - So much fun!
    Friday: Arenas & Stadiums
    Patong Boxing Stadium image
What a great night out! I can’t believe after travelling to Patong so many times that I had not given this experience a try. Seeing the advertising trucks repeatedly up and down the street our family was addicted to saying ‘Monday night Monday night’! My 14 year old was keen to give this a try this trip and we were annoyed we did it towards the end of our trip as we would have liked to have gone a second time! Very entertaining, once I got over the fairly young people in the first fights of the evening. Each fight of the evening seemed to get better with more experienced fighters. Food and drinks are easy to buy and reasonably priced. With a start time of 9pm, we were exhausted by midnight and the last fight was only just starting which was disappointing as it looked so good but we just couldn’t stay awake. Tuk tuks are in big supply when you leave the stadium so you don’t need to worry about how to get home! Such a great experience See more..
  23. 4.0 Naiyang Beach (1.024 reviews)
    - Hidden Gem in Phuket.
    Naiyang Beach image
This a beautiful beach exceptionally long and rarely busy like some other beaches. It is also great to capture an image of the sunset most nights. Plenty of beach areas to get food and the water is so warm. Watch the planes come in across the sea to land at Phuket Internatinal Airport. See more..
  24. 4.5 Bang Tao Beach (951 reviews)
    - Brilliant beach - lots of bars and restaurants!
    Bang Tao Beach image
Fab beach, lots of bars and restaurants, some fancier (more expensive) beach clubs too day and night if that's your thing. A few locals walk up and down the beach selling various local crafts, kaftans, beach towels, sarrongs, all very cheap, and the people do not hassle you if you do not want to buy like in some other countries! Live music, fire shows of a night at some places, fire works at beach clubs, happy hours (even though things are really cheap anyway), great food, something for everyone. Lack of toilets was a downside for me, but then that's what happens if you're enjoying beach life at little 'shack' bars, very authentic. Something for everyone! See more..
  25. 4.0 Karon Temple Market (878 reviews)
    - So much bigger and better than it was 4 years ago
    Flea & Street Markets
    Karon Temple Market image
This has got so much better and bigger since our last visit in 2018. Lots of choice and you can have a good banter and a laugh when bartering. Make sure you haggle, without being rude and there’s so much to see and buy. Some things are more expensive - like the spices, I bought the same spice packet in 7/11 for less…. But you’re there for the atmosphere. See more..

Great beach for snorkeling and relaxing. There are corals very close to the beach and there is almost no current so it never. Kayaks can be rented cheaply in case one wants to row over to the next tiny island or watch some fish a little further from the beach. Plenty of good restaurants with delicious food (especially One More Restaurant) and fair prices nearby. See more..
  29. 4.0 Phuket Botanic Garden (567 reviews) from $3.22
    - Nice garden but exorbitant entry price
    Phuket Botanic Garden image
Small charming botanical garden. Probably the creation of an enthusiast. The garden has an impressive number of plant varieties. The garden is organized on the plan of a theme trail. Unless you are an erudite botanical enthusiast, it takes less than an hour to go around it at the speed of a snail. To visit without regrets if you do not watch your travel budget. The advantage of the price is that you will not be attacked by the crowd! See more..
  30. 4.0 Koh Racha Yai (561 reviews)
    - Beautiful beach not too crowdy
    Koh Racha Yai image
We booked a half day trip to Racha and Corals islands. Because of vicinity of both Islands to Phuket we didn’t spend as much time travelling to and from the islands as with other excursions and a got to spend a good amount of time on the islands themselves and the ‘late’ pick up time (around 08:00 from our hotel in Kata beach) gave us enough time to still have breakfast in our hotel. We really loved Racha beach. It was beautiful and a bit more quiet than Coral Island. There is nog a lot of shade there though and only a couple hours of stores so be mindful of that when you want to spend a lot of time here. Lunch was included in our tour but if we go next time we’ll look into eating at the hotel there. At trip here is definitely very goof value for the money and something we’d consider again I would advise to come early. The later it gets the more crowded it gets and the less places available in the shade See more..

  32. 4.5 Mai Khao Beach (514 reviews)
    - went for plane spotting
    Mai Khao Beach image
went here for plane spotting. I didn’t realize planes don’t land there all the time - it is seasonal so this time of year they only take off from the beach which is cool but the planes don’t get as close. quite a lot of people waiting to get a good photo with the plane over the top. got a bolt there but you can’t get dropped right at the plane watching area as the roads are restricted due to it being behind at the airport - so you have to walk quite a bit and getting a bolt back is difficult as all the cars are on the other side of the airport so it’s a 15min drive to fetch you from the north side so i def recommend getting dropped off/parking and getting picked up at the south side of the airport along the beach at sirinat national park playground area - recommend for plane enthusiasts!! If you don't eat seafood it is still a place to visit, So much seafood and so much of it a mystery until you get chatting with the locals that work here. Everything is fresh from seashells to lobsters, from live octopi to enormous prawns. The idea is you haggle the price down as much as possible and then take your haul to one if the restaurants on the opposite side of the road where they will cook it to your taste and charge you by the kilo for doing so. The best deals are later in the day with the traders looking to clear yesterday's stock. Plus, if you want a souvenir why not browse the shell shops? See more..

Last week we went to Wat Chalong on an organised tour, but we went to this one on our own. It was amazing - we were the only ones there, apart from the cats, dogs, chickens and monks. It was so peaceful. The big temple wasn’t open but we still walked all around it and lit some incense at the shrines which were still open. Then we went up the amazing dragon stairs to the top temple which was open - complete with creepy waxwork monk (who we thought was real for a minute) and a cat asleep in the main Buddha’s lap. Really a much more special experience than the organised tour. See more..

    Wat Suwan Khiri Khet image
We discovered this temple by accident and were so pleased we did. Well maintained, working temple with Thai Monks in orange robes. The visitor can spend as long or as little as they want. We spent about 40 minutes, leaving our teenager in the shade, on a seat whilst we walked around. Very interesting and informative. This is the temple where the markets are held on Tuesday and Friday nights from 4pm. See more..

    Kao Khad Views Tower image
Khao Khad Viewpoint Tower We hired a moped during our stay in Panwa Beach and decided to explore the local area. We came across Khao Khad Viewpoint Tower and were amazed by the 360 degree view that it offered from one of the highest points in the area. There are 136 steps to reach the top so this isn’t for those who have difficulties with mobility and there is no lift. However, it is truly worth the effort. You can easily see Khao Khad Bay, Panwa Cape, the ‘Big Buddha’ and much more... We went early in the morning but I can imagine that the views would be equally beautiful at sunset. There is a bar serving food and drinks on the site which we also stopped at. In summary, a great place to experience the amazing views of the local area and would highly recommend. See more..
