  2. 5.0 Parotte Ville Bird Sanctuary (287 reviews)
    - Fun for all ages
Monday: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Parotte Ville Bird Sanctuary image
This was a fun activity for my daughter & I to do that allowed us to kill some time during the morning. You go into the park and are given a cup of food. As you walk through the enclosed area, birds will land on your cup (or you) and eat. It can be a bit overwhelming the first few minutes in there but you will get used to it. My two year old daughter was even able to hold the food cup and have a bird land on it. Anything more than two birds was a bit heavy for her. You need less than an hour to enjoy this and fun experience for all ages. If you may be afraid of a bird landing on your shoulder or head, this is probably not the place for you. Very knowledgeable and accommodating staff for my daughter and I. So much fun for her that we went twice during our 3 weeks on the island. See more..

  15. 4.5 Orient Bay Beach (5.125 reviews)
    - Beautiful, windy, large beach.
    Beaches
    Orient Bay Beach image
Regarded as one St-Martin’s most famous beaches, Orient Bay Beach enjoys the reputation of being the “St. Tropez of the Caribbean.” This stunning strip of white sand with clear turquoise waters is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants, and beach clubs to choose from, and a strong breeze makes for great parasailing, kitesurfing, and hand gliding. While Plage Naturiste at the southern end is the designated nudist stretch of the beach, you will find that many visitors adopt a clothing-optional mindset all the way along Orient Bay Beach. – Tripadvisor See more..

  18. 4.5 Baie Rouge (514 reviews)
    - Sint Maarten Down Time
    Beaches
    Baie Rouge image
Our Sint Maarten vacation did not let our memories down. The whole two weeks were spectacular. Mullet Bay is still out favorite beach. Just wonderful people there and the most gorgeous beach scene. The villa at Nettle Baie was incredible and we spent several days there just sunning on our own beach by the Caribbean Sea. We cooked most of our meals with groceries from the Maho Market. We absolutely adore Saint Martin /Sint Maarten and would recommend it to anyone who loves the beach and the Caribbean. Have a blast. 19. 4.5 Happy Bay Beach (493 reviews)
    - Can’t believe I haven’t been before
    Beaches
    Happy Bay Beach image
I’ve been to this island 5-10 times and have never made the walk to Happy Bay. We’ve always just spent the day at Friars. This time we parked at Friars, walked to the far end of the beach and hiked 15 minutes to Happy Bay. It was fantastic. The walk was great. It was easy, but rocky, with lovely views and soooo many iguanas resting in the trees. The beach itself was beautiful. It was quiet, with golden sand and the bluest water. It’s a big beach and there were only about 5 other people when we arrived and about 20 by the time we left. There’s a guy who brings a bunch of beers and sets up shop in the abandoned restaurant to sell them. We’ll 100% return to this beach before we leave the island next week. Don’t miss it. See more..

  21. 4.5 Grand Case Beach (365 reviews)
    - Really enjoyed this one!
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Grand Case Beach image
I was a little concerned about beaches on the French side after Anse marcel and orient bay, which I found to be tad pretentious and expensive. Grand Case beach was a corrective experience: it was laid back, fun, and captain frenchy was reasonably priced restaurant to grab drinks at and some lounge chairs (with umbrella). The water is beautiful and sand is powder white. Just as an aside in terms of location, there’s 3 restaurants at the far end of the beach, on the opposite end of restaurant row. THAT is where all the chairs and umbrellas are and I highly suggest making a reservation at one of those spots if you want to relax by the water. I recommend frenchies. We parked on the street and skipped one of the pay lots. I’d go back to grand case for sure! See more..

    - Insanely beautiful!!

    Prickly Pear image
If you don't go to Prickly Pear, you're missing it! We booked a day trip on the Heinken Boat, and took the two hour catameran ride to the island. The crew is awesome, super cool and funny, they get you WASTED (the booze is free) and then drop you off at the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. The snorkeling is cool, and they serve you a delicious lunch at the island's only dining spot. This was one of the best parts of our trip--don't skip it! You can book the tour thru Cocos. See more..
  24. 4.5 Long Beach (107 reviews)
    - Worth the Trouble? We say yes!
    Beaches
    Long Beach image
We love Baie Longue and only discovered it many, many years ago when we stayed at La Samanna. It is very hard to get to, but the privacy, soft sand and beautiful views make it worth it. The water is very rough here and there are tons of rocks of all sizes that make it difficult to enter and exit the water. There are no amenities, but we bring our beach chairs and a bottle of wine and some snacks and just chill out at the end of the day. We never walk down towards the resort because unless you are a guest they don't want to know you. It is much nicer to walk from Baie Longue to Baie Plum or vice versa. Most days you will have most of the beach to yourself. Note: it is a very short distance to the beach from the security post, but the guards near La Samanna make you go back and all around the other way which takes forever even if you know where you are going. And the roads are bad. See more..
  25. 4.5 Petites Cayes (55 reviews)
    - Worth the Hike
    Lookouts • Religious Sites
    Petites Cayes image
We hiked to Petite Cayes from Anse Marcel. The first part is easy on a service road, and then veers off into the woods on a very narrow, very overgrown and rough trail. We are avid hikers and we found it a bit challenging primarily because of the overgrowth. However, the view coming down to the beach is spectacular and the beach event better. There was one other couple on the beach when we arrived. The other way in is via the dump near Cul de Sac. We chose to take this way out, and although it is fairly flat, it can be tough due to a lot of loose rock. The bonus is that it takes you by Grand Cayes as well. Be prepared with snacks and plenty of water, as it can get very hot out there. Well worth the trip to find another glorious beach on SXM. See more..
  26. 4.5 Plum Bay (27 reviews)
    - Great beach
    Beaches
    Plum Bay image
Plum Bay is a great place to relax. Nice white sand, good swimming and snorkeling. To get there you drive to Terres Bases and turn off the main road at the guard house. The guard will let you in, and you drive to the beach past the exclusive homes. The beach is very safe and secure. There are no amenities, so bring a picnic and water. A beach umbrella is also a good idea. One of the nicest beaches on st Martin. See more..
