  1. 5.0 Dive Savaii (133 reviews)
    - Absolutely Amazing !!
    Sunday: Scuba & Snorkelling
    Dive Savaii image
HIGHLY RECOMMEND joining dive Savaii on a tour it was absolutely incredible! Olaf, Tina and Jerry were amazing guides they catered for 2 divers and a young one that was snorkelling. Jerry was the snorkelling guide and he made all of the snorkelers feel very comfortable and safe in the water. We spent 2 weeks in Samoa and this was for sure a highlight the wreck dive was AMAZING. We saw so many turtles and clownfish. We would like to say thankyou so much to the team Olaf, Tina and Jerry at dive Savaii we are already planning to return :) Thanks, Pilcher Family See more..

    - Mind blowing!

I’ve been to the blow holes a few times. It’s always fun to go there with people who haven’t been before. There was a lovely old man who would tell you about the blow holes and he would stand very close to the big hole , get his timing right and throw a coconut down the holes just before the wave came and it would blow the coconut out. He has since passed away. A lovely Woman has taken on his job and she is great. Very friendly . It’s a beautiful place too. Big waves and lava rock. I would recommend it. See more..
  3. 4.5 Afu Aau Waterfall (358 reviews)
    - A hidden gem of Samoa
    Waterfalls
    Afu Aau Waterfall image
Down a small road, which feels like someones driveway, this incredible place greats you. The amazing thing about this waterfall is that you can swim here and also go in behind the waterfall to get some amazing photos of the water cascading down, If you are interested in seeing a video (incl drone footage) of this waterfall and more on Samoa. Check out MATT'YS SHENANIGANS on youtube. See more..
  4. 4.5 Aopo Lava Tubes (10 reviews)

As others have said, this is a hidden gem. It's on a family property and they are really nice guides (and provide good toilets too!). The walk there is nice, through flowers, fruits and cows and the cave is cool to explore (and big and roomy so not scary). See more..

  9. 4.0 Mount Matavanu Crater (17 reviews)
    - Hike Mount Matavanu (volcano)

    Mount Matavanu Crater image
The road is terrible (but worth it)! We made it up most of the way in an all wheel drive but it was dicey. Then we hiked the rest of the way, which wasn't all that long. About 3 quarters of the way up this treacherous poor excuse for a road you'll meet the super friendly and eccentric 'Da Crater Man' as he calls himself and his guard dog, Navy. Where he'll give you info about the volcanoes history. Once you reach the hiking spot, you hike a short distance through lush rain forest and eventually come out at the crater. No words or photos can show the enormity of it, in fact unless you have a drone, photos just do not do it justice. It's incredible. Definitely worth the trip, just take a 4wheel drive and be prepared for a smooch on the cheek by the somewhat toothless crater man. See more..

  16. 3.5 Swimming with Turtles (308 reviews)
    - Beautiful Turtles
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Swimming with Turtles image
If you go to Savai’i, it’s pretty much a must to go and see the turtles . We didn’t t swim with them. It was enough to just be close to them and feed them some Esi leaves. They are such beautiful creatures! The pool they were in was pretty clean and clear. I’ve been there before and the water has been pretty murky. Maybe because of too many people swimming in it? It is the wet season now , so hardly any tourists, which is a bonus! We had the whole place to ourselves, so we could sit beside the pool and just watch the turtles and admire them. It’s a lovely spot, with lots of gardens and water. So I would recommend going there. See more..
  17. 3.5 Falealupo Canopy Walk (197 reviews)
    - short and sweet
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Falealupo Canopy Walk image
I read a few reviews before going to the canopy walk and I got a little bit scared but I can tell you that there is nothing to be scared of. it costs $20 (tala) per person which I think it is a little bit expensive, includes 3 attractions: canopy walk, xxx foot, stone house. The canopy walk is totally safe and the spiral stairs are also totally safe. I did it with snickers but you can also do it with tongs. I liked it however I think that people that are afraid of heights could find this quite challenging. the treehouse is beautiful but you don't have really a great view at the top. it's quite far from the wharf (1 hour) so if you are only staying in Savai'i for the day I wouldn't recommend it. See more..
  18. 3.5 Paia Dwarfs Cave (35 reviews)

    Paia Dwarfs Cave image
Make sure you've got a guide, otherwise you'll never find this amazing cave. We had a young guide. The decent is reasonable and would only recommend for moderate ability. We stopped before the drop into the waterpool but it's fair game apparently if your adventurous. See more..
  19. 3.5 Salelologa Market (22 reviews)

  20. 3.5 Aganoa Beach (7 reviews)
    - Secluded and untouched
    Beaches
    Aganoa Beach image
Went to have a look at the black sand beach. Hired a fale for $20 tala to enjoy the water. Water was really warm and nice a shallow, so much that you could just sit in the water and relax. No one else was there on the day but if you are looking for waves, then this is not the beach for you. See more..

    Pulemelei Ancient Mound image
The track was a dead end so after talking to some locals at the waterfall we hired a local guide. After a 2 hour hike through the jungle with the guide bush wacking we realised he had no idea where it was. So 4 hours later we found civilisation again. I actually really enjoyed the forest walk it was such a unique experience and the guide even scaled a coconut tree for us but it was a shame we couldn't find the mound See more..
