This nature reserve is run by the Mauritian Wildlife organisation as its conservation site in Rodrigues.The reserve is on the main road from Point Coton and St Francois so easy to get to by bus.There are regular guided tours run by experienced warden and takes about an hour & a half.It sits at the highest point of the island so has wonderful views down to the coast from the viewpoint.It is the home of the rare plant cafe marron and other endemic trees which have been planted to try and re create the original forest. On the tour the wardens explain about their conservation work and show the rare plants and wildlife. I did not see the fruit bat but there were tortoises roaming wild in their own area. Nous avons passé 15 jours sur l'île début août 2016 ... et 14 jours de vent ! Lagon très chouette et plat (cf photo). Le club Osmosis est épargné de la cohue de la plage face à l'hôtel car un peu décalé. Du coup plus simple pour atterir et décoller, et pour appréter le matériel. Nous étions deux débutants, et 5 confirmés, les deux débutants (qui maintenant tirent aisément leurs bords) très bien encadrés par Bobo et Marcus, Sidney se chargeant de la supervision des autres clients du club. Jérôme le patron - passionné de planche puis de Kite - toujours là pour donner des conseils ou un coup de main. Au delà de sa taille très conviviale, l'intérêt du club est une super sécurité (le bateau part au quart de tour, surveillance jumelles etc) et son ambiance. Aussi les leçons données au large qui permettent d'éviter la foule, les cris et les kite sur le bord. Un petit bravo pour le superbe downwind (60 km navigué d'après le GPS ...) qui nous a emmené au delà de l'aéroport en toute sécurité. See more..

He managed to organize a great variety of activities, including kite surfing (advanced and beginners level with all equipment needed), island-hopping around the beautiful lagoon, delicious BBQs, hikes and fishing trips. Hello peeps It’s been a while since I last wrote but I feel I have to review this one. The reserve is very nice and the work done is amazing. Nevertheless I feel I have to share that I was very annoyed by our guide there. He call himself Bernard ‘la tortue’. His explanation on plants is inaccurate and his overall speech is very inappropriate. It’s definitely not very informative and sometimes offensive. It would be nice if the centre can give them courses on what to talk and how to communicate to people. I feel very annoyed of having to listen to such a guy for 90 minutes. I was so scared of doing the ziplines, but the whole experience was amazing! You climb up a steep "bridge" to go on a platform, and from there you do a first zip line. Then there are two more afterwards. You get a full view of the ocean, the mountains and trees. Really thrilling! An opportunity to abseil or bridge swing with amazingly confident and calming staff. I was nervous for both and they made me feel totally at ease. A superb location with beautiful view of topaz waters in the distance. We booked a full day tour with Jean-Pierre. It was the highlight activity for our short stay in Rodrigues. Our driver/guide, Geoffrey, made the whole trip a lot more interesting, as he explained to us and showed us spots all during the trip. He even suggested a restaurant to us, Resto La Caverne, where me and my partner both really really enjoyed our lunch.
