- 5.0 Lamin Barra Tours (8 reviews)
-Friendly, reliable and great experience with Lamin - recommend him without hesitation
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Private Tours
Lamin was fantastic, we were with him for 3 days, he helped us deliver donations to small remote villages in the Gambian bush, took us to Senegal to Fathala lodge and also to Kunta Kinte. He helped with all border formalities, looked after us every step of the way, always had a smile on his face and was a good and safe driver. I highly recommend anyone use his services. See more..

-A FORT TO FIGHT THE PLAGUE OF SLAVERY
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Military Bases & Facilities
After the United Kingdom abolished slavery in 1807, it took active steps to end it. Fort Bullen was part of that plan, built to counteract the slavery practices of other nations. The guide was excellent, visiting the entire complex. There is a very good museum on site. The cool breeze was welcome. The fort is part of the Kunte Kinteh and related sites that comprise a World Heritage Site. See more..

-Excellent museum

We went to this village with a local guide who we met. We were asked by a couple of kids for money and they laughed when we asked them for money back! The slavery museum here is excellent. The history is very concise and cannot be faulted really. I would say that the museum is the highlight of the trip and really should be promoted. See more..
