Caverns & Caves
If you're able to climb, you need to see these limestone caves. We visited four different caves: Skull (easy access), Bat (easy access), Peters (very steep stairs) and Great (ladders to climb). Take a flashlight. I used my dive light. Each cave is very different. Skull - looks like a skull from the outside. Bat - not that many bats, interesting open ceiling holes with vines and air roots hanging Peters - most bats and most "rooms", very steep almost vertical stair to climb, cool history Great - worth the climb on stairs, very cool formations of stalagmites and titles. Pay the funds ($50 for 4 hrs) and take the tour around the island with the local taxi company. You'll learn more than going on your own. A must do! See more..
