A great place to spend free time walking. The vast garden looks beautiful in autumn. Especially in such sunny weather!

    A walk in the park
I have known Vallø castle all my life. The castle itself is not open to the public but you are allowed in the park for free. It is very beautiful and brings quiete and calm to the mind. With a group of friends we used to come here to do tai chi and meditation - but I also go alone with my camera Enjoy

    delightful parkland
At Vallø Castle on a sunny afternoon, we admired the moat and the huge walls first before heading off on foot into the extensive parkland. The woods are very beautiful, especially in May when the beech green colour is a delight. There were some fallen trees with enormous fungal growths on them and several small lakes where ducklings were swimming around and a couple of swans were protecting their nests. I guess "idyllic" is the best word to describe the park. The village next to the castle is worth admiring too, as are the tree-lined avenues towards Herfølge and Køge.
