    A great day out!
Visited for the first time on one of the hottest days of the year and feared the holiday crowds, but our fears were put to shame: Even though the parking lots were quickly filling up, this place - set in lush Danish countryside - holds the big crowds very well as it's well spread out over a larger area. The theme park has rides and attractions suited for the entire family, with the majority of rides good for <8 year olds. It offers good variety of open-in-the-sun areas as well as plenty of naturally shaded areas. Even though it's a theme park, prices are quite reasonable. I will definitely visit again next year! Tips: 1. Bring your own packed lunch unless you like poor quality junk food (burgers, pizza, sausages, etc) - this is for sure an area where they can improve. 2. Plan on being here the whole day! 3. Bring your swimming suit & towels if you like soaking in the pool & water rides.

Things to do in Denmark with the kids
Sommerland Sjælland is an amusement park on the island Zealand, Denmark. In July 2010, we rented a cabin near the park, and, for 3 days, our son and his friend were in heaven:). The rides were perfect for this age group (our son is 5). The kids could go in and out of some rides by themselves, and that gave them a great confidence boost. They loved the ‘Wild West, the rollercoaster, the ‘Amazon trip’ and the Wii -room. I loved canoeing and the aqua park. However, if you plan to visit the park, there are a couple of things you should take into consideration: -check the weather forecast. There aren’t many indoors facilities - It is definitely preferable to come in a car, though you can also take the train from Copenhagen. -make sure you bring food with you. The food is expensive and bad. You can, of course, choose to live on ice cream, hotdogs and fries. -check out the opening hours, they vary, but, in general, the park closes pretty early. -the pools are not heated, but, if them Vikings can bathe in it, so can you:)
