Beautiful estate turned into a park with unique buildings on the island of Møn
An 18th century palace Liselund is a Romantic garden with palace, small buildings and garden monuments. It was laid out at the end of the 18th century as a country home for Antoine and Lisa de la Calmette. Liselund's neoclassical palace was erected in 1792 by the architect Andreas Kirkerup. The well-preserved interior is thought to have been decorated and furnished by the leading interior architect of the time, court decorator Joseph Chr. Lillie. Liselund is a rare preserved whole - from its large garden to the smallest piece of furniture. Liselund neoclassical palace is located in beautiful surroundings on Mon, close to the sea. Enjoy a picnic in the romantic landscaped garden or take a tour of the small neoclassical palace built in 1792. Liselund neoclassical palace is open for tours from May to September. The garden is open all year round and admission is free. Free Wi-fi is also available when the palace is open.

Lovely romantic garden
It's such a lovely area and the experience at Liselund was excellent. I recommend taking a guided tour to learn the history and story behind the little castle and romantic garden.

An Elegant Place
We had not planned to visit this site but read about it while here and then the lovely proprietor at Ympelys--a great store btw-- recommended it. It was a real treat to visit--for one, the back story is great--true love! Secondly, there is a magical feeling of going back in time, peeking into the houses and imagining being there while it was someone's home. Finally, the grounds are elegant with rolling hills and lots of picturesque points. We loved our visit and hope many people have a chance to delight along the paths as we did.
