Birds in the middle of the city!

As soon as we walked onto the grounds, we could hear the birds. CPH is a very quiet city, but even so, we heard and saw no wildlife until entering these grounds. Great place for a walk or run. Very peaceful and beautiful.

Another Awesome Place to Walk in Copenhagen
This is one of my favorite places to walk in Copenhagen. The Kastellet is a 17th century earthen-work star fortress and is the most complete fortress of it's type remaining in Europe. The interior is still and active military post. You can walk on the top around the five bastions and walls with a nice view of the city and harbor. The water in the moat has a number of egrets, swans, ducks, geese, and other waterfowl. Great history combined with some exercise makes this one of my favorite places. It is very common to see Danes walking or running around the paths.

    Green space and history
This fort in the north side of the central city provides a large green space and walking paths in addition to the museum rooms and historical sights. Surrounded by a moat we walked atop the embankment and enjoyed views of the fort and the city. A colorful windmill, a serene chapel, and barracks were fun to view. It’s a nice spot to escape the busy town while enjoying the history and scenery.
