Fascinating tour

I think this site is grossly underrated because few people seem to take the tour. Our guide took us through countless halls and rooms, including the city council chamber, that are not accessible without a tour, and he explained some of the hundreds of symbols represented in the art and architecture. It was an amazing experience that offered a much deeper understanding of the city's culture and history.

    Beautiful Facility
City Hall was built in the early 1900’s. Used every Saturday for weddings. Nobel dinner is held annually in the Blue Room, downstairs, and dancing and entertaining in the Gold Room, upstairs. Gold Room initially used for dinners but they outgrew the space. Gold Room made up of glass coated gold leaf in mosaic style. One end of room tells story of uniting the eastern and western worlds. Other end tells the story of how the architect screwed up and cut off the heads at the top of the wall. The Blue Room has a large set of organ pipes mounted along the ceiling. A long table is set for the Nobel Prize dinner with side tables shooting off the center table. All past Laurits are welcome in addition to the new inductees. Two hundred college students also attend from winning a lottery. The architect who designed the building added his bust over a doorway in the Blue Hall.

    May 2022 visit
Everything happens outside of the City Hall. In my time here I saw walking tours start from here, football matches, choirs singing, dancing with DJ. I went in on one of the days and there was a careers convention going on, and also a couple of wedding groups having photos taken. I went upstairs, and found a reading room, which was so peaceful, and beautiful. I also walked post some of the operating offices, and they were very open and spacey. I would definitely visit here again if in Copenhagen.
