Nice and peaceful scenery
A 1200 years old temple. Unlike most temples in China, which are built on the ascendant, visitors enter the temple from above and descend along a sloping path, downhill along the central axis, In the mid-way, the "Yuantong Wonderful Realm (圓通勝景坊)" is a majestic archway built by General Wu Sangui (吳三桂) in 1669. Don't miss the exquisite stone carving on the pillars At the center of the temple area, there is a fish pool with the Octagon Pavilion in the middle. Pavilion, three-holes stone bridges, and the green pool creates a beautiful scene. There are numerous scenic spots in the temple. However, I have a special preference on the roof of the side chambers. The wave-like roof edges (due to old age), the reflections, and the green water add radiance and beauty to each other. Amazing!

Interesting to See
Entrance is 6 rmb various buildings, often with beautiful old details. If you have time, it is interesting to see the temple. During my visit there was a ceremony, many reciting monks and their rituals. Near the temple are several shops and restaurants.

a serene place in the midst of city
within waking distance from Chuanxingulou metro station (line 2), a beautiful temple site with ponds, pagodas etc. Small entrance fee to pay ( maybe around RMB 6) Good to spend time up to an hour
