    Delightful and relaxing walk
This French-style boulevard is over a mile long and is flanked by late 19th century, early 20th century mansions that reflect the economic power that was generated by the "Yucatan green gold", that is, the henequen trade whose origins was in the lovely haciendas that surround the Yucatan state. The boulevard is filled with quaint places to enjoy some coffee or a typical shake you will find nowhere else in the world and which is called a "champola".....you should not miss the Helados Colon. It's quite fortunate that there are many trees planted along the way and you can access complimentary wifi. You can also find a museum (Museo de Antropologia) which will give you interesting insights into the Mayan culture. I would allow at least 1 hour to visit the museum, probably a couple of hours would be more suitable if you really wish to get into it. They have a little street market at the beginning of the Paseo Montejo every Friday and Saturday evening where you can secure some souvenirs and crafts at reasonable prices. Some haggling is fine, just don't over do it.

Paseo de Montejo for a perfect stroll
This is a nice easy walking street compared to some of the smaller city streets. At night, there is a lot happening...often live music at some restaurant/bars and street vendors selling churros, crepes etc. Sunday is the bike ride along the paseo where you can rent bikes for 50pesos. Lovely stroll. very dog friendly too
