Amazing cenote and it worth staying in the hotel

The cenote is open to the sky with the water level about 26 metres (85 ft) below ground level. There is a carved stairway down to a swimming platform. The cenote is about 60 metres (200 ft) in diameter and about 50 metres (164 ft) deep. There are vines which reach from the opening all the way down to the water along with small waterfalls. There are black catfish which swim in the cenote. The cenote is part of a larger complex of a restaurant, store, changing rooms, and cottages for rent. There is also a Mayan ruin on the site. Red Bull Diving Competition Ik Kil was a stop on the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in 2010, 2011 and 2014

    Gorgeous (But Crowded)
This is Cenote Ik Kil and in direct contrast to my first cenote that looked like I wandered into the woods, this one looks like something out of Disneyland?. It's also 150 pesos ($7) per person to enter and the cenote is 157 feet deep and has been confirmed as a location of ancient Mayan human sacrifices (human bones and jewelry were found at the bottom by archaeologists⛏️). Despite that, it was a lovely (though crowded) experience?.

Go early to avoid the crowd
Actually this cenote is like a swimming pool. You will find a restaurant, a snack bar, a gift shop, a change room and lockers. Entrance fee is 150 Pesos (Dec 2021) which included the life jacket and the locker. Starting latest at 10:00 a.m. buses will arrive and the place will continue to be packed until 03:30 p.m. Arrive at opening 09:00 a.m. to avoid the crowd and enjoy the beauty of Ik Kil.
