Scenic and Quiet Part of Yilan

We did not plan to visit this lake even though we saw that there was a bus number 755 from Yilan that terminates at this spot. But our local taxi guide brought us here while on our way to Artemis for lunch. She claimed that it is a place popular with locals for their weekend day out. While the lake may not look as big as Longtan lake, it was nevertheless a nice quiet and scenic spot to hangout for a while. You could take a short walk on the lake across the various pavilions, looking out at the mountains and the clear sky in the horizon. Or I understand you could take a walk along the perimeter of the lake along the various trails. The lake waters look the colour of jade green, so it's a nice contrast to the other lake waters we've visited. Would say it is comparable to the other scenic lakes in Yilan (e.g. Longtan, Meihua), although it is best to come here only if you have transport such as taxi, or car or motorbike.

    Feeding fish
Not many animals except the fishes and ducks. Was recommended by our driver from Free Individual Travel Taiwan because there's a child in our group. Good place for young children to experience nature and feeding the Koi fish. Nice scenery.

    Good for a relaxing walk
The lake has its history to discover but if you only want a peace of mind, don't bother and just enjoy the leisure walk around the lake and the famous red bridge. It is not a convenient spot to get to as many other places in Yilan but you'll be fine if you hure taxi or drive here. Don't miss the several stalls selling snacks and local produces.
