DIY and shopping at AGRIOZ YiLan

My Daughter (15) and I had a great time with the DIY, as it's with the candied fruits that my wife like to eat. We also shopped at the gift shop and found some other preserved fruits and cakes. Tip: this is a good stop to combine with the visit to Rden cake shop along the same road.

Well organized store to purchase Kumquat products
The place to get Kumquat tarts, or only place. Diy activity for kids. Inaccessible by public transport.

Quaint place and a relaxing visit
Agrioz Candied Fruit Museum is a quaint factory-museum-cafe place. We visited this place on a weekday afternoon and it was serenely quiet. Our cab driver informed that a second generation had taken over this place and renovated it, and it was rather telling. There is a nice cafe alongside a workshop space with ornaments of past years and tables for DIY kumquat (Fortunella japonica) making sessions. For NT$150 per person, you can make a small jar of kumquat to bring home. You will be given some of the fruits and a fruit cutter to slice the fruits and mix it with sugar and salt to form a sweet/salty/sour contortion that is refreshing on a hot day or after meals. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a shop selling kumquat products, from preserved fruit to jam to ice cream. It's a lovely place to stop by for an hour, and kids will love the DIY sessions.
