Hami, one day

The mausoleum, museum and palace are on the same road Huancheng Road. They are close to the Uygrus ares with some good restaurants and ice cream shops. There are two areas where locals Ugyurs have shops/restaurants. The one on the riad of tge mausoleum seems quite modern. The mausoleum was open in August 2022 and is worth visit.

    Interesting but not worth ¥40
The mausoleum buildings and the mosque were interesting, but not informative enough without a guide or more written explanation. The tiny museum only displayed everything in Chinese and Uyghur, so we did not get much out of that. The "tree" of hundreds year of age was already dead. The overall experience was not worth the entrance fee.

    Hami Kings Mausoleum is closed!
After we arrived in the Hami hotel on the 18th of May, we arranged a taxi to visit the most (and only according to the most guidebooks) interesting site of Hami. After the taxi had dropped us at the entrance of a kind of theme park with Chinese buildings (which had the same name) we were guided to the correct Mausoleum by a local lady. When we arrived at the site, we saw the area in front of the entrance was blocked by barriers, the ticket office was closed and the gate to the complex was closed. We saw some people inside, but they made signs with their hands that it was closed. Probably because we were too interested, we got visit from some policemen (which has costed us about half an houre of waiting time) who also made clear it was closed, undoubtedly “because of safety reasons” which Is the most common answer in Xinjiang when you have to wait or when you cannot pass….. Summarized, it has no use to go to the Mausoleum because it is closed for an undetermined time!
