Big Tour Boat Closed
Be aware that the big tour boat is not running this summer (2020) due to Covid. HOWEVER - at the same Bridge Bay Marina you can go on a private sightseeing and/or fishing tour for $200 for 2 hours, plus tip. The boats are 22' Grady Whites and can seat 5 passengers. My wife and I just wanted an informational tour (no fishing). Our guide James was fantastic. He took us around the lake explaining the geological, weather and man-made influences of the lake and surrounding forests. Highly Recommended! If you want to fish; (Fishing permit is $15 for a 3 day permit.) Fishing tackle is supplied, for either native Cutthroat Trout (catch and release only) or the huge lake trout. If you get one of those, your captain/guide will clean and fillet your catch! You can also rent a boat yourself: 18' aluminum with an outboard motor. Much cheaper, but no shade and no guide.

Scenic...
Most people likely snap a few pictures of the beautiful lake or enjoy a scenic cruise. However, Yellowstone Lake has the largest population of wild cutthroat trout in the country so it may be more interesting to anglers. We enjoyed a sunset picnic and some cutthroat fishing from shore. Know that cutthroat trout are catch and release only in Yellowstone Lake.
