Great Museum!

This 3 level museum has more then expected! a lot of interactive pieces, great story boards & and artifacts. I really liked the downstairs with half the room built as a ship, and the video that is played. $5 to get in and worth every penny. The guy at the desk was really nice even walked me around a bit, showing different items and telling me the story line behind it all.

Local shipwreck history comes alive in Port Washington!
Learn about the SS Atlanta...how she went down and what she looks like now in Port Washington's front yard. Well done exhibit including artifacts, stories of the rescuers and current views of the wreck. Excellent stop in picturesque Port.

Warm, inviting, informative, very tastefully created.
A wonderful example of how a city chose to save one of their historical buildings two weeks before it was slated for demolition. Yes, a wonderful person stepped forth and donated one million dollars, in part, to save the 1907 structure built of 'Cream City Brick. The end result - a historic Maritime Museum that is family oriented. Port Explorium is a great to visit!
