Great Course - Great People!

What an experience to witness first hand the genius of a Pete Dye creation! The Big Fish Golf Club had it all, rolling linx style fairways, elevated greens, knee high fescue grass and an interesting chain of greens that left me challenged like no other golf course I have played on! The golf course personnel were fantastic, treated us like VIPs and the facilities were very adequate and well managed! Surprisingly affordable green fees for a day in the sun at a Pete Dye signature golf course, good time had by all! Well worth the drive, highly recommended.

    Golf Now did me Right
Really nice Pete Dye course. Very challenging especially the back nine. Front nine is pretty open links style, back lots of trees and some pretty long holes. The club house is nothing but they have a small place between nines for a beer and a dog. Usually $40 or so for 18 and a cart. I got a Hot Deal with Golf Now and paid $19 plus tax.

    This course has huge potential!
Golfed here yesterday with my son and nephews and son-in-law. The front nine is links style and the back takes you into the forest for a totally different experience. The track itself is great I think! It is not an easy course although plenty of room on most holes from the tee to fairway....the greens I found very tricky and difficult. Now part of the difficulty had to do with course conditions and this is where this place has potential. The fairways have lots of rough spots. The tee boxes are brutal! Divot ridden and longer uneven grass. They need to be rolled and cut and seeded! The greens were not bad but again could use Rolling and grass cutting as they rolled try but slow! You needed to get the ball to the hole. They did have very difficulty in locations and the ball did break true so this is where you will add stokes. Chris who checked us in is super nice and helpful. I would like to come play here again next time I am up to the Northwoods. This course could be fantastic as the "rough" spots get smoothed out and filled in. If the fescue on the front nine grows in thicker as well this would toughen up the front nine as well. It looks pretty now but fescue is thin and can be played out of today. I am sure Erin Hills could give them some grounds keeping tips! Chris, keep up the good work. Glad t hear thing there are on the mend and will only improve!
